While affirming the speed of highway construction in China, we should also pay attention to the lack of investment in highway maintenance in China. We haven't established a unified and efficient management system nationwide. Especially in the aspect of highway maintenance, there is no perfect maintenance technical standard, and many highway maintenance schemes are based on general highway maintenance specifications, which obviously do not meet the requirements of highway maintenance. The lag of preventive maintenance makes the future maintenance cost increase and the maintenance efficiency is low.
The new equipment independently researched and developed in China mainly focuses on the equipment for highway construction, and has little enthusiasm for the facilities needed for highway maintenance, which leads to the failure of the achievements of highway maintenance equipment to keep pace with the times. China has not yet formed a strong sense of building an environment-friendly society. For example, the construction of some expressways takes up a lot of land, which brings many problems to the local environment, such as soil erosion, water system destruction and vegetation destruction. In the process of highway maintenance and management, how to save resources and protect the environment is a problem worth pondering.

It can be said that these countries already have a complete set of recycling technology, and have reached the maturity of standardization and standardization. Some countries have also promulgated special laws and regulations to stipulate the recycling of waste asphalt pavement materials. As far as China's situation is concerned, China is still in the primary stage of recycling asphalt pavement materials, mainly through technology introduction and trial implementation. In our country, for a long time, the maintenance of highway is milling and planing the abandoned asphalt pavement. Today, with the prevalence of energy conservation and environmental protection awareness, we should pay attention to changing the past practices in future conservation actions and strive not to waste resources or destroy the environment.
Management innovation and standardization development.

In a word, there are many disadvantages in highway maintenance in China, and management innovation and reform are needed in time.
