good-for-naught
Baihua manbu
Yuxi Liu Tang
When Chang 'an flowers bloom, the scenery should be frivolous.
There is no one who doesn't sell wine, and there is no place where you can't hear music.
Spring breeze moves all night, and light rain is the sky.
Red flames rushed out of the wall and snowflakes reflected the corner.
The purple rhyme is scattered, the bamboo is far away and the yellow falls on the fence.
What can a light cigarette do when you are in trouble?
The whole court is a soul and looks like a Dan.
Rotten people are crazy, depraved and exhilarating.
The season is easy to be late, and the clear shade covers the pool pavilion.
Only a pomegranate can soothe loneliness.
Liu Yuxi (772-842), a native of Luoyang, Henan Province, was a writer and philosopher in the Tang Dynasty, with excellent poems and a wide range of subjects. He is called "Liu Liu" with Liu Zongyuan, "Three Masters" with Wei and Bai Juyi, and "Bai Liu" with Bai Juyi, and is known as a "great poet".
Liu Yuxi is resolute, indomitable, brilliant, ill-fated and repeatedly relegated. He was an official abroad for more than 20 years, but he was always indomitable and strong-willed, and he was called a "fighter" in the Tang Dynasty. Most of his poems are concise and lively, natural and fluent, elegant in style, straightforward and bright, broad in realm, determined to forge ahead, vigorous in strength, high in momentum and full of artistic tension.
Judging from the content, this poem "Walking with Flowers" should have been written by the poet when he was young. Liu Yuxi did not live in Chang 'an for a long time. In the ninth year of Zhenyuan (793), he joined Liu Zongyuan as a scholar. In the same year, he became a scholar and scholar. Two years later, he went to the official department to take an examination of the scholar and was placed as a prince's school book. Ding You soon stayed at home. In the eighteenth year of Zhenyuan (802), he was transferred to the main book of Weinan County, Jingzhao Prefecture, and soon transferred to supervise the imperial history. At that time, both Han Yu and Liu Zongyuan worked in Yushitai, and the three became friends and had a very close relationship. Liu Yuxi is very kind to politician Wang, and his talent and ambition are highly valued by his uncle. As a result, he was appointed as foreign minister, sentenced to a salt and iron case, and participated in the management of state finances. After the failure of "Yongzheng Innovation", Liu Yuxi began a 23-year relegation career, and basically had little chance to return to Chang 'an. Therefore, it is judged that this poem was written by Liu Yuxi from promotion to relegation.
The poem Hundred Flowers describes the sights and customs of Chang 'an in spring at that time. The poet used many spring flowers as foil, and finally highlighted pomegranate flowers, expressing his inner loneliness.
"Chang 'an Baihua, the scenery should be light and thin. There is no one who doesn't sell wine and has no place to listen to music. "Chang' an, as the imperial capital of the Tang Dynasty, is rich and prosperous, and spring blossoms. People drink, have fun and enjoy flowers. However, in the eyes of poets, they feel a little shallow and frivolous. Because at that time, the governors were independent and the eunuchs were authoritarian, but the Beijingers didn't care about current politics and drank and had fun as usual, which made the poet feel helpless.
"Spring breeze moves overnight, and light rain is dedicated. The red flame is out of the wall, and the snow light reflects the corner of the building. " In spring, under the blowing of spring breeze, flowers are in full bloom, and under the washing of spring rain at dawn, they are particularly enchanting. Pink apricot blossoms and peach blossoms stand out from the wall, and snow-white plum blossoms and pear blossoms set each other off in the corner.
"Complex purple bamboo, far yellow fence. I am flooded by the road, and the light smoke is not credible. " Purple peony is matched with pine, cypress and bamboo, which is elegant and charming; In the distance, the yellow Spring Festival blooms on the fence, and everything looks so beautiful. Among the flowers, I don't know where to go, full of sadness, like a ray of light smoke without support.
"Full of souls, according to Danw .. rotten crazy, wandering to persuade pleasure." The courtyard is full of flowers, full of excitement and soul-stirring, and the warm sunshine shines on the porch, giving off a purple luster. The flowers are rotten and the pedestrians are crazy. They live in Chang 'an, lonely and miserable. They should eat, drink and be merry in time.
"The season is easy to be late, and the Qing Yin covers the pool pavilion. Only one pomegranate can comfort loneliness. " This sentence is reversed. With flowers as a foil, it shows that we should eat, drink and be merry in time, but the poet didn't do so. Why? Because good flowers are not often there, spring is easy to wither, and negligence will pass (dusk refers to the setting of the sun in the west). After the flowers wither, trees will cover ponds and pavilions. At this time, there are only pomegranate flowers, which are particularly enchanting. They don't compete with the crowd for spring, and they are open in early summer. Chatting can kill loneliness.
"Hundred Flowers" describes the blooming situation of flowers, renders the delicate posture of flowers with colors, and finally highlights pomegranate flowers and praises them. After the flowers wither, the trees are full of flowers, delicate and charming, and have a unique charm. Describing the scenery on the surface has profound implications. The poet uses pomegranate flowers as a metaphor and feels frivolous and vulgar about the flowers. It's like the political chaos and the separatist regime in the buffer region. However, Beijingers drink, have fun, muddle along and make noise among the chaotic flowers, but they didn't expect that spring would soon pass and the flowers would wither.
The poet's seemingly carefree worries and helplessness about people are unforgettable, full of worries and wandering hearts. His feelings of worrying about the country and the people are included in it. Finally, he comforted himself with pomegranate flowers, hoping that he could stand out after the flowers withered and monopolize Fang Kui, just like pomegranate flowers.
This poem, with neat antithesis, proper wording, delicate observation, delicate description, profound feelings and a blend of scenes, can be called a masterpiece of lamenting pomegranate flowers with spring flowers as a foil.
