Paper on treating stomachache with traditional Chinese medicine
Speaking of the stomach, it is really an organ that people love and hate. When we are in a good mood, our appetite is wide open and we eat happily. When you are in a bad mood, your appetite increases greatly, and you die as soon as you eat it. Moreover, people are iron rice steel, and they are hungry every meal. The stomach is one of the important organs for food digestion, but it is often "injured" because of our unhealthy eating habits.

Many people suffer from a certain degree of stomach trouble. The question is big or small. The most common thing is stomach pain caused by eating cold and unclean things or mood swings. Every time the upper abdomen is stuffy and painful, nausea and nausea, it is very uncomfortable to eat one more meal.

Stomach pain, also known as epigastric pain, is a common pain in the upper abdomen near the heart socket, accompanied by belching, vomiting and other symptoms. Because the stomach cavity is close to the heart fossa, the so-called "heartache" and "sudden pain under the heart" in the literature of traditional Chinese medicine in past dynasties mostly refer to stomach pain.

Stomach pain is a common clinical symptom, which is more common in acute gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastric neurosis, gastroptosis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, gallstones, gastric cancer and other diseases in western medicine.

Etiology and pathogenesis

1, cold pathogen attacking the stomach

Insufficient cold in the body or exogenous cold pathogen, or excessive eating leads to cold, so that cold pathogen accumulates in the stomach, which is unfavorable for ascending and descending, leading to disharmony between stomach and qi and pain.

2, diet hurts the stomach

Poor diet, overeating, excessive hunger, cold and heat can all damage the spleen and stomach, making it full and painful. For example, overeating spicy products and alcoholic beverages will cause heat accumulation in the middle energizer, damage the stomach yin and lead to stomach pain.

3. Liver qi invading the stomach

The liver is dirty, sexual pleasure is overwhelming, and nausea is suppressed. Anxiety, depression and anger can all damage the liver, which loses the function of promoting qi circulation, causing stomach diseases, qi stagnation and stomachache. If qi stagnates for a long time, blood stasis will block stomach collaterals, and "immobility will cause pain." If qi stagnation turns into fire, it will damage the stomach yin, make the stomach meridian lose nutrition and cause stomach pain.

4. Spleen and stomach weakness

Deficiency of spleen and stomach, deficiency of middle yang, endogenous cold; Or long-term illness hurts the spleen and stomach, leading to insufficient stomach yin, loss of nutrition in the stomach and disharmony between stomach and qi, all of which can cause stomach pain. Although the causes of stomach pain are different, they are all due to the loss and decline of stomach qi. "It hurts if you can't." There are different clinical manifestations such as cold, heat, food stagnation and blood stasis.

So is there a better treatment for this disease in Chinese medicine?

A very famous prescription, Fu Liang Pill, is recorded in The Axillary of Prescription. This prescription has only two medicines, Alpinia officinarum and Cyperus rotundus, but it has a very good therapeutic effect on stomachache.

Today, this prescription is often used as the basic prescription for treating chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal neurosis and other diseases.

Alpinia officinarum, pungent in taste and hot in nature, belongs to the spleen and stomach meridian, and has the functions of warming stomach, dispelling cold, promoting digestion and relieving pain. Often used to treat epigastric pain, stomach cold vomiting, belching and acid swallowing. The general dosage is 3 ~ 6g.

Cyperus rotundus, pungent in nature, slightly bitter, slightly sweet and flat, enters the liver, spleen and triple energizer meridians, and has the functions of promoting qi circulation, relieving depression, regulating menstruation and relieving pain. It is often used to treat chest pain, hypochondriac pain, epigastric pain and dyspepsia, chest pain, cold hernia abdominal pain, breast pain, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea and other symptoms caused by liver depression and qi stagnation. The general dosage is 6 ~ 9g.

In Fu Liang pills, galangal needs to be washed with wine for seven times, and then dried; Cyperus rotundus needs to be washed with vinegar for seven times and then dried. Through the processing of wine vinegar, the gastric warming effect of Alpinia officinarum and the analgesic effect of Rhizoma Cyperi were enhanced, and then the two drugs were crushed and stored respectively.

The pain treated by Fu Liang Pill is a common stomachache caused by stagnation of cold and qi, and the onset of pain is mostly caused by cold diet or depression.

The key of pathogenesis lies in cold coagulation and qi stagnation. Cold diet, invasion of cold pathogens, stagnation caused by cold, leading to qi and blood stagnation and pain; Or emotional depression, stagnation of liver qi leads to qi stagnation in abdominal cavity, resulting in abdominal distension and pain.

Alpinia officinarum is pungent and hot, which can enter the spleen and stomach meridians, warm the stomach, dispel cold and relieve pain. It is hotter after being processed with wine, which increases the function of promoting blood circulation, so that Alpinia officinarum can dispel cold, relieve pain, remove blood stasis and dissipate stagnation.

Moreover, Alpinia officinarum also has a certain effect of invigorating stomach and promoting digestion, which is helpful to the recovery of digestive function. Cyperus rotundus is a good medicine for regulating qi, which can enter the triple energizer meridian of liver and spleen, promote chest and abdomen, soothe the liver and relieve depression, promote qi circulation and relieve pain.

Emotional discomfort caused by various reasons. Pain in the upper abdomen, qi and depression can be relieved, and the pain can be eliminated if the qi in the chest and abdomen is unobstructed. After processing with vinegar, the analgesic effect is better.

However, in the process of use, due to the different emphasis on cold coagulation and emotion, the dosage is also very different. Specific usage and dosage need to be taken dialectically under the guidance of professional Chinese medicine. Don't use drugs without authorization, so as not to delay the illness.
