He graduated from Zhengzhou University (1985), China Renmin University (1988) and Nanjing University (2003) with bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctor's degree respectively. Visiting Scholar of Freeman Foundation, Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA (2010-201). After graduating from master's degree, he worked in the Institute of Philosophy of Henan Academy of Social Sciences for a long time, serving as the deputy director of the Institute of Philosophy and an outstanding expert in Henan Province. In 2003, he was transferred to the Philosophy Department of Nanjing University; At present, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Philosophy of Nanjing University, deputy director and researcher of center for studies of marxist social theory at nanjing university, and an adjunct professor at the Institute of Marxist Philosophy and China Modernization Theory of Sun Yat-sen University.
