Since 2024, on the basis of the results of the college entrance examination and the comprehensive quality evaluation of candidates, the art majors such as art history, drama, film and television literature have been selected in colleges and universities.

Art majors who take the results of the provincial unified examination as their professional examination results will be admitted to parallel volunteer on the basis that the results of the college entrance examination and the provincial unified examination for culture courses have reached the minimum control score of the admission of art majors in their provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), and based on the comprehensive scores of the results of the college entrance examination and the provincial unified examination for culture courses, the proportion of the results of the college entrance examination for culture courses in the college entrance examination shall not be less than 50% in principle.

On September 24th, 2002/KLOC-0, the Ministry of Education issued the Guiding Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Further Strengthening and Improving the Enrollment of Art Majors in Colleges and Universities.

The opinion pointed out that it is necessary to gradually improve the cultural performance requirements of art candidates. By 2024, the enrollment system of art majors in colleges and universities will be basically established based on the unified college entrance examination, with provincial professional examinations as the main body, with reference to students' comprehensive quality evaluation, classified examinations, comprehensive evaluation and multiple admissions.
