Employment direction of astronomy major
Astronomy majors train senior professionals with good basic knowledge and ability in mathematics, physics and astronomy, who can engage in scientific research, popular science, teaching and technical work in astronomy and related disciplines. Astronomy majors generally have two choices after graduation: Postgraduate direction: Students who are interested in astronomical research can continue to study in China or study abroad and devote themselves to scientific career in the future. Employment direction of graduates: Astronomy is an interdisciplinary subject with aerospace, geodesy, national defense and other applied disciplines, and students can show their talents in these fields after graduation.
Employment prospect of astronomy major
It is understood that there are not many universities offering astronomy at undergraduate level in China at present, only four universities are Nanjing University, Peking University, China University of Science and Technology and Beijing Normal University, and most of them are engaged in the research in this field. It can be said that astronomy is a subject that needs long-term research and has a solid scientific foundation. Astronomy is an interdisciplinary subject with aerospace, geodesy, national defense and other applied disciplines. Students can display their talents in these fields after graduation.

Other information:
There are only five universities offering undergraduate astronomy majors in China, namely Nanjing University, Peking University, China University of Science and Technology, Beijing Normal University and Xiamen University.
Nanjing University, founded in 1902, is an institution of higher learning with a long history. Formerly known as Sanjiang Normal School, it has undergone many changes. 1949, National Central University was renamed National Nanjing University, and the following year it was renamed Nanjing University. Guided by the principle of "strengthening application, paying attention to foundation, developing periphery and promoting alliance" and the guiding ideology of "basic research is oriented to the international academic frontier, applied research is oriented to the national strategic needs and the main battlefield of national economic construction, and it is committed to solving major theoretical and practical problems related to the national economy and people's livelihood", Nanjing University has adjusted its scientific research layout, strengthened its scientific research organization, and made every effort to promote scientific research work, making it an important scientific research center in China.
Peking University, founded in 1898 and formerly known as Shi Jing University Hall, is the first national university in China and the first university formally established in modern China. Its establishment marks the beginning of modern higher education in China. Peking University was the earliest institution established as a "university" in China and the earliest comprehensive university in modern times, which gave birth to the earliest modern academic system in China. Peking University is the only university in modern China founded as the highest institution of higher learning. At first, it was also the highest educational administrative organ of the country at that time, exercising the functions of the Ministry of Education and being in charge of national education. Peking University inherited the academic system of Guozi School (Guozi School, imperial academy), the highest institution in China for thousands of years. At the beginning of the school, it was not only a traditional imperial academy system, but also a modern university. It not only inherited the orthodoxy of the highest institution of higher learning in ancient China, but also pioneered the modern higher education in China, which can be described as "inheriting the orthodoxy of Imperial College and establishing a university ancestor". Since its establishment, it has enjoyed a high reputation and status. In the first year of the Republic of China (19 12), Shi Jing University Hall was renamed the National Peking University.
China University of Science and Technology is a national key science and engineering university directly under the China Academy of Sciences, which focuses on cutting-edge science and high technology and features management and humanities. It is also the first batch of key construction institutions of "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project". Selected as members of "Everest Plan", "11plan", "201/plan" and "National Overseas High-level Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base". He is a member of Nine Schools Alliance (C9), China University Presidents Association, East Asia Research University Association and Pacific Rim University Alliance. The University of Science and Technology of China was founded in 1958 and moved to Hefei, Anhui Province in 1970, with Guo Moruo as the first president. The school is known as the "cradle of scientific and technological talents" in China and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev once praised it as a "world-class university". The main departments of the Chinese University of Science and Technology are Mathematics College, Physics College and Chemistry College. 20 15 In July, the University of Science and Technology of China ranked 4th in QS BRICS University Ranking 20 15.
Beijing Normal University, referred to as "Beijing Normal University" for short, is a university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and a unit directly under the central government. Ranked as "2 1 1 project" and "985 project", it was selected as the national "Everest Plan", "201plan" and "65438". The predecessor of Beijing Normal University is Teachers College of Shi Jing University, which was founded in 1902. 1908 was renamed as Shi Jing Excellent Normal School, which was established independently. 19 12, renamed Beijing Normal University. 1923, the school was renamed as Beijing Normal University, becoming the first normal university in the history of China. 193 1, Beiping Women's Normal University merged into Beijing Normal University. 1950, Chairman Mao inscribed the name of Beijing Normal University. 65438-0952 Fu Jen Catholic University merged into Beijing Normal University.
