I like reading since I was a child. I graduated from Nanchang Xinyuan Middle School with honors and won a scholarship from Tsinghua University. 1929 graduated from the Department of Physiology, University of Chicago, USA. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at 193 1 and his Ph.D. degree at 1934, and was accepted as an honorary member of Sigma Xi. 1935 returned to China as a lecturer in Tsinghua University. 1937 after the outbreak of the all-round anti-Japanese war, he moved to Kunming and became a professor at the National Southwest Associated University. 1940 was transferred to be a professor of zhongzheng medical college, 1946 returned to Tsinghua to teach. He is also a professor of physiology in Peking University, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, yenching university and Peking University Medical College. 1952 department adjustment, transferred to Peking University professor, concurrently head of the Department of Physiology. From 65438 to 0955, he was invited to attend the Eighth Congress of Physiologists, Biochemists and Pharmacologists in the whole Soviet Union and gave an academic report at the plenary session. 65438-0956 attended the National Congress of Advanced Producers as the representative of China Education Trade Union, and was elected as the representative to attend the first National Congress of Science and Technology Popularization Activists in the same year. 1980 was invited to become a member of the International Hibernation Society. He used to be a distinguished academician of China Academy of Sciences, chairman and director of chinese association for physiological sciences, and a member of the editorial board of teaching materials of the Ministry of Education. 1987 65438+ passed away in Beijing on February 26th.
Zhao is mainly engaged in physiological research and is the founder of hibernation physiology in China. When I was studying in America in my early years, I was mainly engaged in cell physiology research. During the Anti-Japanese War, a series of comparative studies were made on the skin respiration of salamanders in Dianchi Lake, which proved that the lungs of salamanders were effective respiratory organs and overturned the conclusion that the lungs of salamanders were only floating and sinking organs and had no respiratory function in some foreign monographs at that time. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the problem of hedgehog breeding in the laboratory was solved for the first time, and the hedgehog was successfully made into a new experimental animal. From 1947 to 195 1, the hibernating physiology of hedgehog was studied systematically, which started at the same time as the international research on hibernating physiology, and the related research was considered as a classic work of hibernating physiology by foreign colleagues. 1952, mainly engaged in physiological research in higher nervous activity. 1978, the research on hibernation physiology resumed, and the hibernation research group led by it was the only hibernation research point in China.
Zhao Yisheng devoted himself to physiology teaching. He founded the first science physiology major in Peking University on 1952, and attached importance to the teaching of basic physiology courses. He advocates that teaching should be concise, not only to impart knowledge, but also to restart thinking. He also put forward suggestions for the improvement of scientific physiology, and advocated that cell physiology and comparative physiology should be the main direction of scientific physiology research. It has made important contributions to the training of physiologists.
Zhao Yisheng published 97 books (volumes), including 49 scientific research papers, 6 comprehensive scientific papers, 2 textbooks and related materials, and 20 other discussion articles. Main Works: Human and Animal Physiology, higher nervous activity's Basic Physiology, Basic Physiology, etc. Main translations: medical physiology and biophysics; Main papers: the effect of electrodes on the dorsal median nerve of horseshoe crab heart, the abnormal phenomenon in horseshoe crab Polyphemus's cardiac ganglion, the effects of cold stimulation and neutral sodium salt solution on cold stimulation, the osmotic characteristics of isolated amphibian skeletal muscle, the water regulation in salamander's body, the research on salamander's breathing, the hibernation of hedgehog, the temperature and activity of hedgehog's exciting perfusion heart, and the hibernation physiology.
Zhao, whose real name is 1909, was born in a landlord's family in Laoxia Village, Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Zhao's father was impacted by the torrent of the times, which changed the old habit of feudal family autocracy and allowed his children to develop freely. Zhao likes reading since childhood. When Nanchang Xinyuan Middle School graduated, her grades were among the best. After that, he applied for a scholarship to enter Tsinghua School, which trained preparatory students studying in the United States at that time. 1929 After graduation, I went to study in the Department of Physiology, University of Chicago, USA. 193 1 obtained the bachelor of science degree, 1934 obtained the doctor's degree, and was awarded the title of Six Sigma Xi member. 1935, teaching in Tsinghua University. During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he moved to the rear area and became a professor in The National SouthWest Associated University. 1940 transferred to zhongzheng medical college. /kloc-returned to Tsinghua University in October, 1946, and successively served as a professor of physiology in Peking University, Peking Union Medical College Hospital (now Peking Union Medical College), yenching university and Peking University Medical College (now peking university health science center). 1952 transferred to Peking University as a professor and concurrently served as the head of the Department of Physiology, and died in Beijing on February 26th.
While devoted to teaching and scientific research, Zhao took an active part in various social activities. He used to be a distinguished academician of China Academy of Sciences (1950- 1954), chairman of chinese association for physiological sciences (1950- 195 1), and chairman (1951-
