For this problem, the management documents of various places have not made clear provisions, and we think it is particularly necessary to be clear and pay attention to it. As far as the requirements for the opening of graduate dissertations of liberal arts majors are concerned, there are mainly the following six items.

1. Define the topic and explain it.

This is a work that reflects the author's grasp of the overall intention of the paper. The significance of this requirement, first, the topic selection is the solidification and determination of the previous topic selection work, rather than thinking of a topic temporarily and taking the opening report as the process of topic selection. The second is to have a clear topic. Although the set topic is good or inappropriate, it can be submitted to the opening report meeting for comments. But as an initiator, it must be specific and clear, not just a scope. If there is, it can be considered that there is no such requirement. Third, the reasons for determining the topic should be clearly discussed and not vague.

2. Literature review of the research status of this topic.

This is a work that reflects the author's understanding of the current research situation. This is a necessary factor. First, it is better to require a separate literature review, not just a simple statement in the opening report. Second, it is necessary to stipulate the number of words to review, and the general literature of liberal arts should review at least 5000 words.

3. Research results related to the subject.

This is the embodiment of the author's previous practical thinking and research. As an important element, you must have it. If you don't have it, you can also be regarded as not having the conditions to start the topic. However, it can be in various forms: it can be publishing related papers, it can be related master's course assignments, it can also be related research data collation, and it can also be research reports, data statistics or questionnaire design.

4. Detailed writing outline.

This is the embodiment of the author's deep thinking on topic writing. One of the requirements of this requirement is that it must be a writing outline, not just a writing idea. In practical work, some students often confuse the two, which is very noteworthy, because only a detailed writing outline can reflect the author's in-depth thinking and grasp of the topic, and can also get in-depth discussion and further guidance at the opening report meeting. If it is just an idea of wonton, it is impossible to express and do this. Second, the outline should be detailed, at least the layout from the introduction to the conclusion should be comprehensive, the chapter titles should be clear, and the second-and third-level titles below each chapter should be complete, not just on the chapter titles.

5. Detailed bibliography.

This shows the author's work in collecting literature. First, to meet the requirements of quantity, there should be at least 5O dissertations (departments) in general liberal arts. Second, to meet the quality requirements, there must be authoritative works on this subject, papers from authoritative journals on this subject, and the latest research papers or works on this subject.

6. Make opening report and report courseware.

The opening report is the overall embodiment of the author's preliminary work and the written embodiment of the opening management requirements. It should be filled out comprehensively and pertinently according to the author's preliminary work, and printed and submitted. At the same time, in order to facilitate the discussion at the opening report meeting, we should make a demonstration document for the opening report statement.

In short, before the presentation, as instructors, we should clearly inform the students that they need to do all the above work before they can attend the presentation, otherwise they will not be able to attend. This requires the instructor to clearly inform the students at least half a year or earlier before the lecture, and give necessary guidance to the above practices and requirements. As a student, we must realize that opening a topic is not just opening a topic at the opening report meeting, but a job that we should think and do as soon as we enter graduate study or at least the second day of junior high school, otherwise we will not meet the requirements or be caught off guard.
