The specialized laboratory of aquaculture in College of Animal Science of Guizhou University was established in 2005. So the history of this laboratory is relatively short. The aquaculture professional laboratory has an existing building area of about 200m2, and more than 70 experimental equipment (pieces) with a total equipment amount of more than 300,000 yuan. Complete sets of equipment account for more than 60% of the total equipment, and the number of experimental students is more than 6000 per academic year. The utilization rate, intact rate and renewal rate of experimental equipment in this laboratory are all above 90%. At present, the laboratory has 1 laboratory director and 1 full-time experimental technicians.

Aquaculture laboratory is mainly for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in aquaculture in College of Animal Sciences. He has undertaken the experimental teaching of 65,438+03 undergraduate courses, such as ichthyology, aquaculture mechanics, crustacean aquaculture, bait science, fish ecology, fish aquaculture, aquaculture engineering, aquaculture breeding, fish resource assessment, shellfish aquaculture, seaweed and seaweed culture, special aquaculture, graduation thesis, etc., the experimental teaching of advanced aquaculture in the master's degree course of aquaculture and the evaluation and identification of aquatic animal germplasm resources. In recent years, the specialized laboratory of aquaculture has also undertaken nearly 10 aquatic scientific research and experimental tasks of Guizhou University. In addition, specialized aquaculture laboratories actively seek to provide external services.

Animal medicine laboratory

Development history and laboratory overview Animal medicine laboratory was formed by the merger of general practice teaching and research section of Guizhou Agricultural College and veterinary hospital. It belongs to the College of Animal Science of Guizhou University, with a total area of 1453.94m2 (the third teaching building is 362.66m2, and the doctor of animal 109 1.28m2). It consists of clinical courses (veterinary surgery, veterinary internal medicine, infectious diseases of livestock, etc.). ). The clinical laboratory is mainly distributed on the third and fifth floors of the third teaching building. Animal hospital has big animal clinic, small animal clinic, laboratory, X-ray room, B-ultrasound room and medicine room. At present, it mainly undertakes the experimental teaching task of the specialized course of animal medicine and the course of Veterinary Medicine of animal science in the whole hospital, which is open to both inside and outside the school. Animal hospitals also serve the society. Courses served by the laboratory and the number of experiments offered: the laboratory offers 8 courses, including veterinary internal medicine, veterinary surgery, veterinary obstetrics, infectious diseases of livestock, animal parasitology, Chinese veterinary medicine, veterinary medicine and zoonosis. 5 1 undergraduate teaching experiment. There are 9 full-time teachers in the laboratory, including 4 associate professors, 3 veterinarians and 4 assistant veterinarians. There are 2 doctoral students, 2 doctoral students, 1 master students and 3 master students. In addition to completing the experimental teaching tasks of undergraduate related courses, the laboratory also creates platforms and conditions for postgraduate training. At the same time, teachers and students are encouraged to make use of the existing experimental conditions and actively carry out various academic exchange activities to create a good academic atmosphere for their study and work. At present, the laboratory has 76 sets of equipment above 800 yuan, with a value of more than 920,000 yuan, which can fully meet the experimental teaching tasks and scientific research work of undergraduate practical teaching. In recent years, due to the increasing investment of the school, the updating speed of laboratory instruments and equipment has been accelerated, and even some large instruments and equipment or precision instruments have been introduced.

Basic laboratory of animal science

The basic laboratory of animal science was established in May 2000, with six sub-laboratories. That is, laboratory 1 (animal morphology, structure and embryo group laboratory), laboratory 2 (microscope laboratory), laboratory 3 (animal germplasm determination laboratory), laboratory 4 (nutrient composition, hydrochemistry and environmental sanitation determination laboratory), laboratory 5 (basic veterinary laboratory) and laboratory 6 (veterinary pathogen laboratory). 200 1, 1 1 passed the evaluation of Guizhou Provincial Department of Education.

There are 8 full-time staff, including associate professor 1 person, senior experimenter 1 person and 2 experimenters. These laboratories are concentrated in the 1-5 floor of the third teaching building, and their ancillary facilities such as water, electricity and sewage are basically complete, but the load of electricity is not enough, which often leads to overload operation. There are 477 instruments and equipment in our laboratory, with a total value of 6.5438+0.859 million yuan, and 473 instruments and equipment are in use, with a value of 654.38+0.8510.5 million yuan. The utilization rate of instruments and equipment is 99.20%, and the intact rate is 98.30%.

Our laboratory undertakes the teaching tasks of 20 courses in 8 majors (animal science, animal medicine, grassland science, aquaculture, biotechnology, biological science, pharmaceutical engineering and agronomy) in three colleges (College of Animal Science, College of Life Science and College of Agriculture), with an average of 39,752.67 experimental hours per year. The laboratory is open to comprehensive and designed experiments for eight majors every semester, and the content of comprehensive, designed and applied experiments is increased to more than 60% of the total experimental hours. In addition, the basic laboratory of animal science also undertakes the teaching tasks of three master's programs of animal genetics and breeding, basic veterinary medicine and preventive veterinary medicine, and the basic experimental courses of adult education at all levels, as well as the experimental work of basic research and scientific research projects of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine.
