However, there are also some problems in the development of popular dance. Therefore, we should take active measures to guide people to understand the cultural value behind popular dance, understand the importance of popular dance to cultural development, and actively promote the development of popular dance.

Introduction:

After entering the new era, meeting the people's growing needs for a better life is the main social contradiction we have to solve. Enriching people's daily life activities is also one of the needs of people's better life. Mass dance can not only exercise people's physique, but also delight people's hearts, and it is also the enrichment and development of China culture. Therefore, popular dance plays an increasingly important role in people's daily life. Actively developing mass dance culture can not only meet people's spiritual and cultural needs, but also be a very important content in community culture construction.

First, the basic overview of popular dance culture

Popular culture is created by the broad masses of people in their daily life and labor, and is constantly developed and passed down in the process of life and labor. Popular culture has many forms of expression, such as painting, music, calligraphy, martial arts and so on. And popular dance is also one of the manifestations of popular culture. For professional culture, popular culture is closer to people's life and reality. Similarly, compared with professional dance, popular dance is more "grounded" and more likely to resonate with the people. Through the popular dance culture in a region, we can see people's attitudes and values towards life conveyed behind the dance culture.

Compared with professional dance, popular dance is a kind of popular dance and a branch of dance art. "As a combination of life culture and artistic culture, popular dance culture is a group dynamic culture with non-verbal characteristics and powerful communication function, and it is an artistic embodiment of mass production mode and lifestyle." [1] In recent years, with the accelerating pace of China's cultural construction, the mass dance culture is also developing and becoming a cultural form that cannot be ignored in the construction of mass culture in communities. The development of popular dance is not achieved overnight. From the celebration of human dance in primitive society to the leap-forward development of mass dance in Han dynasty, the spread of "hundred plays" in Han dynasty played an important role in the development of this dance. The Tang Dynasty is an important period for the development of ancient dance in China. During this period, people attached great importance to dance activities, and there were special choreographers and open mass song and dance entertainment activities, which was of great significance to the spread and development of mass dance. Since the Song Dynasty, pure song and dance activities have gradually transformed into opera, and dance no longer exists in a separate form. With the development and progress of society, different nationalities in China have different national characteristics, and China has formed a variety of mass dances.

Second, the value of the development of popular dance culture in the new era

(A) conducive to the prosperity of socialist culture

Culture is the foundation of a nation's survival and development, and it is also the most basic symbol of a nation. At the same time, culture has many forms of expression, dance culture is one of them, and mass dance is also one of them. Therefore, the development of popular dance culture can promote cultural construction. The mass dance culture has the characteristics of mass, diversity, entertainment and regionality, and the mass dances of different nationalities in different regions are different. This dance form not only enriches the types of dance culture, but also promotes the prosperity and development of socialist culture. Since the reform and opening up, China's comprehensive national strength has been greatly improved, people's living standards have been continuously improved, and the corresponding life concepts and attitudes have been constantly changing. Mass dance has also been enriched and developed with the change of people's values, showing the unique charm of Chinese culture in its unique form and promoting the prosperity and development of socialist culture.

(2) It is conducive to improving people's physique.

Mass dance culture is people's perception of life in daily life and labor, which is closer to the masses and its form is more easily recognized by the masses. In recent years, more and more people have participated in the group dance. While enjoying spiritual life, people also keep fit. People can release their bodies while participating in group dances. With the development of society, people's pressure is increasing. Various diseases destroy people's health, and most people are in a sub-health state physically and mentally. The existence of popular dance can make people release and relieve pressure in the dance action of stretching their limbs, and at the same time improve their physical quality and aesthetic cultivation. Mass dance is an activity worth popularizing, which is of great significance to the improvement of national physique.

Third, the problems existing in the development of popular dance in the new period.

(A) government departments should pay more attention to mass dance.

The development of popular dance is more free and there are more participants. However, in the process of development, there is a lack of special venues and fixed funds. Clothing, props, audio equipment and other items needed for mass dance activities need to be paid by participants themselves. Although there are a large number of people participating in mass dance, there is no fixed venue. Most of their venues are open spaces next to parks and communities. The venue is not big enough and the facilities are incomplete. Moreover, mass dance activities need to cover a large area, and the activity time is not fixed, which will affect the leisure and entertainment of others. The existence of these problems shows that the government has not paid enough attention to mass dance, government departments have not really realized the significance of mass dance to cultural development, and have not seen the positive role of mass dance in promoting people's physical and mental health.

(B) The development of mass dance lacks the guidance of professional teachers.

Popular dance is different from professional dance and has more popular characteristics. Most of the participants are amateurs or retirees, and the dance troupe has no professional teacher to guide them. Popular dance movements lack standardization and stability. There are a large number of participants in popular dance, and most of them take exercise and pleasure as their main purpose. Under such circumstances, the movements of popular dance are too simple and casual, even incoherent. This group lacks professional guidance, and people only regard mass dance as an exercise activity, not as a formal dance. Without the guidance of professionals, "this leads to the single content of dance, which is not interesting and innovative, and loses the spirit and nutritional function of this art over time" [2].

(C) participants in mass dance lack knowledge of dance culture

Students majoring in dance should not only learn dance movements, but also learn dance culture knowledge and understand the historical origin behind each dance. In this case, the dance action displayed is not only the swing of limbs, but also the expression of emotions, which is more attractive and causes people to sing emotionally. However, most of the participants in popular dance are retirees, and these groups do not pursue beautiful and connotative forms. Most of them just want to exercise, which also causes them not to explore the profound connotation of dance and understand the essence of dance. Mass dance participants lack professional knowledge of dance culture, only learn dance movements, and do not show dance culture, which is not conducive to the inheritance of mass dance culture.

(D) The proportion of participants in mass dance is not balanced.

Through observation, it can be found that the proportion of participants in mass dance is unbalanced, and the age is concentrated around 50 years old. The participants are mainly retired women, while young people hardly participate in mass dance activities, and the proportion of men participating in mass dance is also very small. Middle-aged and elderly men are not interested in popular dance, but more attracted by activities such as chess and cards and Tai Chi, while teenagers prefer professional and innovative dance activities and are not sensitive to recreational popular dance activities. Moreover, we should realize that the imbalance of participants is not a case of a certain region or a certain community, but a common situation in various regions, which hinders the spread and development of popular dance culture.

Fourthly, the strategy of strengthening the development of popular dance culture in the new period.

The strategy of strengthening the development of mass dance culture in the new period can be discussed from three aspects: increasing attention, government departments actively guiding the development of mass dance, organizing training, regularly carrying out mass dance cultural education activities, increasing innovation and creating mass dances with local characteristics.

(A) government departments pay more attention to actively guide the development of mass dance.

"It is the key to strengthen the construction of mass dance culture and increase investment in mass dance culture." [3] On the one hand, government departments need to pay more attention to mass dance culture. According to the actual development of local mass dance, on the basis of overall planning, we will increase the capital investment in mass dance and build a cultural activity room so that the participants of mass dance can have a fixed venue. At the same time, we will use the funds invested by the government to purchase a number of facilities, equipment and dance props used in dance activities, so as to facilitate the construction of mass dance culture. On the other hand, government departments should actively publicize the advantages of mass dance, use multimedia to increase publicity, let more people know that mass dance has great positive significance for participants' body and mind, encourage men, women and children to actively participate in mass dance, and promote the development of mass dance culture. Government departments should attach importance to the development of mass dance culture, realize the important role of mass dance culture in the process of cultural construction, arrange special managers of mass dance culture, continuously improve the overall quality of mass dance participants and promote the development of mass dance.

(two) organize training and regularly carry out mass dance culture and education activities.

Professional dance and popular dance are both very important dance forms in the field of dance, and their development is of great significance to promoting dance culture. But professional dance learners can not only learn relevant dance culture knowledge, but also have special dance teachers to teach dance body movements. Through investigation, it is found that most of the participants in mass dances in various regions are women in their fifties. They are not professional dance learners and don't know much about dance culture. In order to better publicize the popular dance culture, it is necessary to educate the participants on the popular dance culture. By learning the knowledge of dance culture, participants can deepen their understanding of popular dance, better understand the connotation of dance movements, put more feelings into dance performances, and better attract people's attention, so as to achieve the role of inheriting popular dance culture and promoting the development of dance culture. In addition to educating the participants of mass dance in theoretical knowledge, we should also hire special dance teachers for training. Nowadays, most popular dances are square dances, with few and simple movements. We should hire professional teachers to guide participants' dance movements, so that participants can learn more dance movements and their movements will be more standardized. It is of great significance for the publicity of popular dance culture to train participants in theoretical knowledge and dance movements.

Increase innovation and create popular dances with local characteristics.

With the development and progress of society, culture is constantly bringing forth the old and bringing forth the new, which not only retains the excellent parts with national characteristics, but also constantly adds new contents that meet the requirements of the times. Accordingly, as one of the manifestations of culture, popular dance should be inherited and innovated on the basis of inheritance. Create mass dances with local characteristics and keep pace with the times to promote the inheritance and innovation of local culture. When creating mass dances, we should fully consider the local cultural characteristics and integrate them into mass dances, which will not only help to strengthen the understanding of local culture among participants in mass dances, but also help people to understand local culture by watching mass dance performances and promote the spread of culture. The existing mass dances are similar, but the mass dances in different regions have a high degree of overlap, which is not conducive to the development of mass dance culture. Therefore, we must actively innovate dance and increase the content that conforms to local characteristics to ensure that popular dance will not be eliminated.
