At present, the vast majority of doctor-patient disputes are not due to the level and quality of medical technology, but because medical services are not in place and communication between doctors and patients is not timely enough. Therefore, how to improve the doctor-patient communication ability of medical students and guide them to establish a stable and harmonious doctor-patient relationship has become a serious and urgent important topic in medical education in China. This paper will discuss how to improve the overall comprehensive quality of medical students by enhancing the communication ability between doctors and patients.

First, the importance of cultivating the communication ability between doctors and patients
1999, undergraduate medical education formulated by the international medical education commission (IIME)? Global minimum basic requirements? In 2008, China's Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health promulgated "Undergraduate Education Standards for Clinical Medicine (Trial)", which put forward higher requirements for medical students' interpersonal skills. From 20 10, the professional quality part has also been added to the examination for professional doctors. In April, 2002, an expert group from Nanjing University conducted a survey of 30 hospitals. The results showed that 43.8% patients did not trust doctors, and only 25.9% patients believed that doctors had mutual trust. This distrust will gradually evolve into? Collective distrust? . In recent years, the frequent occurrence of medical disputes makes patients and their families dissatisfied with the quality of medical care, which in turn leads to social dissatisfaction and misunderstanding of the medical industry. This fully shows that the current medical disputes are not only the cause of medical technology, but also the cause of medical service. It can be seen that interpersonal communication skills are becoming more and more important for doctors.
Second, the main reasons for medical students' doctor-patient communication at this stage
1. The cultivation of communicative competence is a weak link in teaching.
Medical college, as a teaching base for training the reserve forces of medical teams, pays insufficient attention to the cultivation of medical students' communication level and skills. Medical students need to learn the ability of doctor-patient communication from teachers' words and deeds. This primitive mentoring teaching mode lacks standardization and systematicness, and some teachers themselves lack communication skills, which makes students' communication skills between doctors and patients vary with different teachers' level. In some developed countries such as the United States, doctor-patient communication is one of the clinical skills that doctors must possess, and it is also a compulsory course for medical students.
2. The nervousness and timidity of medical students
Most medical students feel nervous and timid when they come into contact with patients in the early stage of clinical practice, and they don't know how to communicate with patients. Some medical students will even be flushed and incoherent, and some patients have a strong distrust of medical students who have just entered the clinical internship stage, which will easily lead to communication barriers between doctors and patients.

In China, few medical colleges offer education courses on doctor-patient communication, and communication skills are simple? Collect medical history? Stage and patient's condition and treatment plan. Therefore, it is urgent to bring the doctor-patient communication course education into the education system of medical colleges and universities, and improve students' doctor-patient communication ability through school education.
1. The instructor helps medical students to build confidence.
Teachers should give medical students enough confidence and give them a chance? Doctor? Introduce it to patients, so that students can face patients as doctors; While cultivating medical students' clinical thinking, we should encourage them to have more contact with patients, teach them to find the breakthrough point of communication with patients, and exercise their ability to help patients solve the causes through the analysis of the psychology and behavior of patients and their families. Affirming and encouraging medical students' achievements in front of patients can not only help students to eliminate timidity, build up self-confidence, improve their communication ability with patients, but also increase patients' trust in medical students.
2. Establish a patient-centered concept.
Medical students should take patients as the center, learn to put themselves in other's shoes, make patients feel understood and gain their full trust. In addition, we should try to explain the cause to patients in common language and try to narrow the distance between doctors and patients.
3. Establish a system of rewards and punishments for supervision and assessment.
From time to time, teachers are sent to each ward to conduct spot checks on teaching quality, investigate the doctor-patient communication status of medical students, collect the doctor-patient relationship status of medical students, the incidence of medical disputes and the evaluation of teaching teachers, and regularly organize grading, appropriately reward outstanding students and properly educate underachievers.
