Therapeutic effect of hyperbaric oxygen on cerebral palsy
From the mechanism, the treatment of cerebral palsy is easily associated with hyperbaric oxygen (HBO). HBO can correct hypoxia and promote the repair and regeneration of injury, which is easily associated with the treatment of cerebral palsy. Although many scholars use HBO to treat cerebral palsy, the conclusions are different. In fact, since HBO was first used to treat cerebral palsy, the debate has never stopped. Collet and others randomly observed the efficacy and side effects of hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy. 1113 ~12 years old children with cerebral palsy were randomly divided into hyperbaric oxygen group (n = 57) and low pressure group (n=54). All patients were treated for 40 times in more than two months. HBO group was given oxygen for 65438±0.75 ATA for 65438 0 hours; The low pressure group was in the air of 1.3ATA (making patients feel pressure). Through the evaluation of general motor function, including the observation of daily activities, attention, memory and language, it is found that the situation of the two groups has improved, but there is no significant difference between the two groups. However, Montgomery and others found that after HBO treatment, 25 children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy were improved in three of all five motor functions; Three of the six fine hand movements were improved; 3/4 muscle stiffness decreased; Four of the nine items answered by parents have improved. In the newly published literature, Han, Huang, Ding Guihua, Liang, etc. all found that hyperbaric oxygen has a good therapeutic effect on children with cerebral palsy, and some children have very remarkable curative effects. There are many factors that produce different therapeutic effects, which are generally related to the timing, frequency, dose, duration, combined medication, degree of brain injury, observation index and so on. At present, hyperbaric oxygen treatment centers in many areas often receive such children's treatment. These children had no obvious abnormality at that time, but they had definite or indefinite ischemia and hypoxia at delivery. Because parents are worried that although there is nothing unusual about the child at present, with the growth of age, once there is a gap with other children, it is too late to do further treatment. China's family planning policy is that a couple can only have 1 child, and prenatal and postnatal care has been widely valued by the whole society. Although early hyperbaric oxygen therapy may not be able to cure the children who have suffered from ischemia and hypoxia during delivery, it may be one of the important means to reduce the severity of cerebral palsy, improve the quality of life and reduce the burden of family life and society.
