Shen Yifen,1was born in Shanghai on October 29th, 1933, graduated from the Biology Department of Nanjing University, and has been working in the Institute of Hydrobiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences ever since. 1956 to 1960 studied in the Soviet union and obtained an associate doctorate. 1983 won the title of "March 8th Red Flag Bearer" in China. 1985, joined the China * * * production party. 1995 was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences.
