Introduction to Shen Lefen
Shen Yifen,1was born in Shanghai on October 29th, 1933, graduated from the Biology Department of Nanjing University, and has been working in the Institute of Hydrobiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences ever since. 1956 to 1960 studied in the Soviet union and obtained an associate doctorate. 1983 won the title of "March 8th Red Flag Bearer" in China. 1985, joined the China * * * production party. 1995 was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences. He used to be the vice chairman of the Chinese Zoological Society, the chairman and honorary chairman of the protozoan branch of the Chinese Zoological Society; Director of the International Society of Protozoa, honorary member of the International Society of Protozoa; Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. Academician Shen Yifen studied under Academician Wang, the founder of protozoology in China, and devoted his life to the taxonomy and ecological research of protozoa. She led her assistant to investigate the fauna and distribution of protozoa in 22 provinces of China, and described 458 species of protozoa, including new species and subspecies 12, 80% of which were new records. This is also the first local history of freshwater protozoa in China, and it has been rated as a "classic in the field of protozoa" by domestic and foreign counterparts. Academician Shen Yifen also investigated the soil protozoa in different temperature zones from south to north in China, and obtained the characteristics of species composition and seasonal variation, which filled the gap in the research field of soil protozoology in China. Through more than 30 years of long-term observation, she revealed the evolution of protozoan community structure and function in the process of eutrophication in East Lake. Based on the practical research of various water bodies in recent 65,438+00 years, the national standard of "water quality-microbial community -PFU method" was developed and established at the intersection of classification and ecology, which expanded the new field of biological monitoring. This standard is the first national standard in the field of biological monitoring in China, and is praised by foreign counterparts as "one of the world leaders in establishing micro-community evaluation". In August, 2005, Academician Shen Yifen and more than 60 academicians and well-known professors from Wuhan Academy of Sciences jointly wrote a letter to the State Council, offering suggestions and suggestions for the construction of economic and industrial belts and the protection of ecological environment in the Yangtze River basin. In July, 2005, he attended the 7th Asian Ciliate Biology Conference held in Wuhan. Academician Shen Yifen published 2 19 papers, wrote 7 monographs and translated 1 article.

Protozoologist Shen Yifen. Female,/kloc-born on October 29th, 1933, died on October 29th, 2006/kloc-0. Shanghai people, Han nationality. China * * * production party party member. 1953 graduated from the biology department of Nanjing University, and joined the Institute of Hydrobiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences in July of the same year. 1956- 1960 went to study in the Soviet union and obtained an associate doctorate from the institute of zoology of the Soviet academy of sciences. 1960 10 has been working as a researcher in the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences since returning to China in October. He has served as director and vice chairman of the Chinese Zoological Society, secretary general, vice chairman and chairman of the China Protozoan Society, and director of the International Protozoan Society.

The pioneer in the field of protozoa research in China devoted his life to the study of protozoa taxonomy and ecology, creatively combining protozoa taxonomy and ecology to better serve the national economy. He presided over the study on the classification and fauna of protozoa in 22 provinces of China, led his assistants to identify nearly 2,000 species and found 35 new species. Among aquatic invertebrates in Tibet, 458 species of protozoa were recorded, of which 80% were new records, including 12 new species, which were praised as classics in this field by domestic and foreign counterparts. After more than 30 years of observation, the evolution process of protozoan community structure and function in the process of eutrophication in East Lake was revealed. The monitoring method of microbial community has been continuously improved and popularized, making it an accurate, economical and rapid water quality evaluation method. 199 1 year, the state bureau of technical supervision and the state environmental protection bureau promulgated the —PFU law as the national standard for the first time. * * * Published 2 papers 1 9, 7 monographs and translated1article.

1997, won the Corliss prize of the 10th international protozoan congress. In the same year, he was awarded the title of honorary member by the International Association of Protozoologists.

1995 was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences.
