Dongtou County is a county under the jurisdiction of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, which was called Zhongjie in ancient times. It is located in the southern coast of Zhejiang Province, outside the mouth of Oujiang River. It is one of 14 island counties (districts) in China, consisting of 168 islands and 259 reefs, so it has the reputation of "the county with hundreds of islands" and "the pearl of the East China Sea". The county covers a total area of 892 square kilometers, including land area 100.3 square kilometers, registered population 13. 14000, and permanent population of 87000 in 20 10. It has jurisdiction over four streets, namely, Bei 'ao, Dongping, Jue Yuan and Niyu, and Damen Town and Luxi Town. Dongtou Fishing Ground covers an area of more than 4,800 square kilometers, which is the second largest fishing ground in Zhejiang and the "hometown of Sargassum fusiforme in China". Dongtou is the only 4A-level tourist area named after the county seat, national sea fishing base and nanxi river, and together with Yandang Mountain, it constitutes the "Golden Triangle of Mountain, River and Sea Tourism" in Wenzhou.
