Detailed introduction of polyurea coatings
Dudley J. Primeaux of Texaco (now Huntsman) Company of the United States took the lead in developing and successfully spraying polyurea elastomer technology, and published a research paper for the first time in 1989. 199 1 year, this technology was put into commercial application in north America, which immediately showed its excellent comprehensive performance and was welcomed by users. Other companies developing spray polyurea systems include Huntsman, Enviro Chem, Speciality Products Inc, Signature Lining, Mobile Enterprise and Madison Chemical Industries Inc Australia introduced this technology in 1993, Japan introduced this technology in 1995, and South Korea introduced this technology in 1997, and put it into commercial application one after another. The development stage of polyurea coating system and its present situation at home and abroad have gone through the following five stages: the first stage: pure polyurethane; The second stage: polyurethane-polyurea; The third stage: pure polyurea/aromatic; The fourth stage: aliphatic/polyaspartic acid anticorrosive decoration system; The fifth stage: various modified high-performance anti-corrosion and waterproof systems.

In order to better promote the vigorous development of global polyurea technology, exchange information in time, develop the market and realize the enjoyment of resources, the United States established the "Polyurea Development Association" in 2000. The purpose of the association is: to develop new marketing strategies and promote the development of polyurea and PDA; Establish a special place for members to discuss polyurea issues; Formulate relevant standards for polyurea products; Clarify the definition of polyurea; Seminars are held regularly every year, and polyurea operation training courses are held regularly. The European Polyurea Development Association was established at the end of 2007 and held its first annual meeting, which marked the formal large-scale development of polyurea technology in the world.

In order to improve the reaction activity in polyurethane system, catalysts must be added. The catalyst not only catalyzes the reaction between hydroxyl and isocyanate, but also catalyzes the reaction between isocyanate and water, producing gas, which leads to the sharp decline of material properties. Polyurea system is completely different. It takes amino-terminated polyether and amine chain extender as active hydrogen components, which have extremely high reactivity with isocyanate components, and can complete the reaction instantly at room temperature (even below 0℃) without any catalyst.

(1) coating contains no catalyst and can be cured quickly. Can be sprayed on any curved surface, inclined surface and vertical surface without sagging. 5s gel 1min can reach the walking strength.

(2) The coating is insensitive to moisture and humidity, and it is not affected by environmental temperature and humidity during construction.

(3) The coating has a solid content of 100% and does not contain any volatile organic compounds (VOC), so it is environmentally friendly.

(4) It has excellent physical and chemical properties, such as tensile strength, elongation, flexibility, wear resistance, aging resistance and corrosion resistance.

(5) It has good thermal stability, can be used at 120℃ for a long time, and can withstand the short-term thermal action of 150℃. Polyurethane reaction: r-NCO+r'oh catalyst rhn cour'

Polyurea reaction: R-NCO+R'NH2 RNHCONHR'

Reaction of isocyanate with water: R-NCO+H2O catalyst RNHCOOH
