Second, it is also closely related to the social ideological emancipation in the Tang Dynasty. Poets in the Tang Dynasty were at the peak of the prosperous feudal history, and most of them belonged to the emerging landlord class among the common people, so they held a positive and optimistic attitude towards life. This high-spirited state of mind comes from poetry, which has produced a romantic atmosphere in Tang poetry (especially in the prosperous Tang Dynasty). There were also sharp contradictions in the Tang society, but after social changes, the old contradictions were solved to a certain extent, and the new contradictions have not reached the irreconcilable level. Therefore, intellectuals at that time dared to face up to reality and devoted themselves to exposing social ills to save society, thus forming a strong realistic tradition in the development of Tang poetry. At the same time, the rulers at that time had certain confidence in their own rule, and needed to coordinate contradictions in order to benefit long-term stability, so they adopted a more enlightened policy ideologically. This has also played a positive role in liberating people's ideological shackles and promoting the free development of poetry creation.
Thirdly, the prosperity of Tang poetry is also the product of the general upsurge of art and culture in the Tang Dynasty. Before the Tang Dynasty, aristocratic families monopolized culture, and literary creation almost became a pastime tool in the hands of a few privileged classes. After the Tang Dynasty, this situation was broken. Generally, scholars from cold food families have embarked on the road of studying, and even the lower classes have some opportunities to get in touch with culture. This will inevitably bring new vitality to poetry creation. The full development of various styles in the Tang Dynasty also influenced poetry in many ways. For example, Wang Wei's landscape poems are called "paintings in poems". As for the implementation of the system of selecting poets in Tang Dynasty and the rulers' advocacy of literature, this in itself is a sign of the general upsurge of art and culture, which will certainly have a negative effect on poetry creation.
Fourthly, the great achievements of Tang poetry are the result of the poet's criticism and inheritance of literary heritage in many aspects. The development of China's classical poetry has a history of 1600 years from the Book of Songs to the Tang Dynasty. The rich creative experience of predecessors, such as the realistic tradition of The Book of Songs, the romantic flavor of Chu Ci, and the "style" of ancient poems in Han and Wei Dynasties, were fully absorbed by Tang poetry. However, Tang poetry treats literary heritage not uncritically, but selectively sublates it. In Du Fu's Six Plays, it is mentioned that "I am a teacher and turn to many teachers". On the one hand, I want to oppose "pseudo-style", on the other hand, I want to study extensively and innovate on the basis of critical inheritance, which is also an important reason why Tang poetry can transcend tradition and make a big step forward.
