Professional introduction:
The academic system of this major is three years, and it is divided into three directions: linguistics, British and American literature and translation. In the first three semesters, I studied master's related courses, and in the last three semesters, I started my master's thesis, wrote and defended. The main professional basic courses are: general linguistics, introduction to British and American literature, translation theory and practice, etc. Professional courses include cognitive linguistics, English lexicology and literary translation. In addition, there are specialized elective courses such as pragmatics, British and American female novels, second language acquisition, British and American drama, systemic functional grammar, translation theory masterpieces, pragmatic translation research, modern English grammar research, modern western literary criticism theory and practice, African-American novels, sociolinguistics, British and American modernist literature, British romantic poetry, and British post-colonial literature. Graduate students can choose corresponding courses according to their own research direction and complete the credits stipulated by the school.
