Last September, I came to peking university health science center to study. After leaving the university for more than 20 years, I went back to the campus to listen to the teacher's lectures and relive my dreams as a student. It seems that the enthusiastic and passionate young student has returned to his body. All this made me excited when I first came to Beijing Medical University.
I came from a medical college in mountainous areas, and I have done clinical work at the grassroots level for more than 20 years. When I first came to Beijing Medical University last year, I felt that I had stepped on the highest point of my past life, and I felt like a "other mountains are dwarfed under the sky." . But then I took Beijing Medical University as a new starting point for my future life. Only by constantly trying to climb can I reach the real peak. Being in this quaint, beautiful and eternal campus, I feel not only glorious, but also responsible. This responsibility comes from the inheritance of history, from the call of the times and from the expectation of hometown.
At the beginning, I set myself a learning goal, that is, I dabbled extensively and focused on casting nets. My focus is to study hard in the field of reproduction, combined with gynecological endocrinology, and eat this major deeply and thoroughly. After all, people's energy is limited. If you want to learn everything, you may end up with nothing.
In addition to professional knowledge, it is also extremely important for me to go out of the mountains, see the world in the capital, feel the spirit and demeanor of Beijing Medical University, and learn the character of Beijing Medical University. I have studied in many places in China before, but it is the first time to study in the highest hall system of Chinese medicine. After working for many years, I can return to the classroom for the first time, and finally I can realize a "dream of northern medicine".
The Reproductive Center of the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University, where I have been, is one of the best in China, where the first test-tube baby in Chinese mainland was born. Therefore, many patients from all over the country come here, and the daily outpatient service here is usually between 1.600 and 1.800. Even during the epidemic, there are more than 1.200 to 1.300 person-times every day. Almost all expert numbers are hard to find. Every day, there are more than ten general outpatient clinics and specialist outpatient clinics at the same time, and there are more than one hundred patients in each outpatient clinic. Therefore, it is really not easy to see a doctor here.
You know 100, it takes more than 500 minutes for more than five patients to talk to everyone, that is, more than eight hours, not to mention doing B-ultrasound to monitor ovulation. Therefore, we advanced students must go all out to do a lot of peripheral work, such as asking medical history, writing medical records and registering, so that teachers can take care of the disease wholeheartedly.
In the first few days, working in the reproductive center clinic was completely defeated by the busyness here. I never stopped working. I have no time to drink water or go to the toilet. I don't even have time to play with my mobile phone. After lunch at noon, I went on working. I was in the clinic from morning till night, busy, and finally got off work. It was already dark when I went out. I am very happy in this busy work all day.
I didn't expect so many infertile patients. I didn't expect so many people to be IVF. Even though we have been engaged in obstetrics and gynecology for many years, we still have some misunderstandings about "IVF" and think it conflicts with traditional ethics. I always feel: Isn't it better to be born naturally? We artificially fertilized eggs and sperm in vitro and then transplanted them into the mother's uterus. In this process, a lot of drugs were used. Is it really good that there are so many external interventions in human genetics? Isn't the law of survival of the fittest in nature ineffective in the face of this advanced technical means? Won't some genes with birth defects be inherited?
I have a lot of doubts about IVF. However, when I went to the Reproductive Center of the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University, I saw the place where China produced the most test-tube babies, and I had a deep understanding of this technology. I think it's time to let go of the prejudice against IVF, because these children are no different from ordinary children, flesh and blood, not freaks, not aliens. The existence of this technology has brought great hope to all infertile couples.
In the center, the cause of infertility should be found first, and whether it is surgical treatment, drug ovulation induction treatment or artificial insemination should be determined according to different reasons. If all the above methods fail, we should consider IVF instead of taking out the highest-end weapon-IVF. In fact, the treatment is from simple to complex, and it is not appropriate to choose too high-end technology. The higher the technology, the more factors of human intervention.
Every doctor in the Reproductive Center of the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University is an expert in a certain field, and every doctor has his own "specialty" or "killer". Here, doctors learn from each other and recommend patients to each other. When you meet patients who need surgery, such as endometrial polyps, ovarian chocolate cysts, hydrosalpinx and so on. The attending doctor will ask the patient to hang up the number of the doctor in the operation group and go directly to these experts to solve these problems.
In case of recurrent abortion, autoimmune diseases, thyroid and other problems, the attending doctor will also refer the patient to the corresponding experts in the department for consultation. The tradition here is the "mentoring system", which brings the old with the new and makes the whole team full of vigor and vitality. Many older doctors introduce patients to many younger doctors who are less qualified than themselves. They never consider their own interests, but the interests of the whole team. They are willing to leave opportunities to more young people, help them get on the horse and send them on another journey.
There is a strong learning atmosphere in the department. At 7: 30 every Thursday morning, the department has a morning meeting, which is quite exciting. It is the teachers of the whole reproductive center who study the latest literature in a certain field in the world together, and even Dean Qiaojie, who is on official business, comes to study in person. There are postgraduate courses every Monday night, which are taught by academician Lang Jinghe and other well-known domestic obstetricians and gynecologists, and there are department teachers giving lectures to our advanced students every Thursday night. I benefited a lot from the wonderful lectures given by professors.
Later, we were given time to write our own papers, so as long as we have time, we will go to the library of Beijing Medical University or the Third Hospital to check the information and literature to understand the latest academic progress. In addition to studying, Peking University Medical Center also organizes our domestic visiting scholars to visit the Forbidden City, Yuanmingyuan and other places. Students are very busy on weekdays, and finally have the opportunity to visit the park together. I'm really happy! We reminisce and think in the dust of history, and feel the traditional culture and art of China in our hometown, which will be a wonderful memory during our study in Beijing.
Our visit is coming to an end. Recalling these years in Beijing Medical University, it is really a great enjoyment for middle-aged people to swim freely in the sea of knowledge.
