Before his death, Mr. Zhao Songting had the idea of developing the flute into a porous shape. Dai Ya worked closely with composers. After nearly 20 years of research and repeated practice, he boldly used the improved eight-hole flute in his performance, which expanded the scale and made it more perfect, thus opening up a new field for flute to better meet the needs of soloists, concertos and composers in the new period. In 2000, he wrote "Practice and Thinking of Cooperation between China Bamboo Flute and Western Orchestra", and thought about the development prospect of eight-hole flute from the theoretical level. In 2008, the new project "Eight-hole flute-a new and improved course of bamboo flute application" was completed, which made the training and performance of eight-hole flute a complete standardized system and contributed to the development of flute.
