Guangdong Overseas Chinese Middle School is the only complete middle school in Guangzhou, formerly known as Siyi Overseas Chinese Middle School. Founded in 1946 by patriotic overseas Chinese in Taishan, Xinhui, Kaiping and Enping. 1950 after the government took over, it was renamed "Guangdong Overseas Chinese Middle School", which was directly managed by the Provincial Department of Education, and was listed as a provincial key school together with five schools including Guangya, Shi Sheng, No.6 Middle School and Zhixin. It is also one of the earliest "first-class schools in Guangzhou", which has great influence at home and abroad.
