China Garden Composition 800
As the saying goes, "There is heaven above and Suzhou and Hangzhou below". I am lucky because I live in Zhou Su and Zhou Su is famous for its gardens.

Generally speaking, Suzhou gardens have three characteristics: first, the landscape of gardens imitates nature: taking natural landscapes as the theme, using manpower to imitate natural scenery according to local conditions; Second, gardening pays attention to elegance and quietness: the landscape of gardening is small and large, and the landscape is borrowed from inside and outside; Third, highlight the national style in the garden: the ancient buildings in the garden are integrated through painting, calligraphy, poetry and other artistic techniques, with poems in the scene and paintings in the poems. Suzhou Garden is a typical representative of southern classical gardens in China. The gardens are famous for Humble Administrator's Garden, Canglang Pavilion, Lion Forest and Lingering Garden, and are also called the four famous gardens in Suzhou.

Humble Administrator's Garden, together with Beijing Summer Palace, chengde mountain resort and Suzhou Lingering Garden, is called the four classical gardens in China. Now it is a national key cultural relics protection unit. Humble Administrator's Garden is the "crown of Suzhou gardens" and a private garden with Jiangnan style. It used to be the residence of Lu Guimeng, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, and later became the seclusion of the king in the Ming Dynasty. Named after the ancients built houses, planted trees and irrigated gardens, it is also the semantics of "I am a civilian". It was once a part of the Loyalty Palace of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The Humble Administrator's Garden is dominated by Canglang Pool, and the main buildings in the garden are surrounded by long flowing water, which is indifferent and clear. The whole garden hall, pavilion and porch are named after lotus flowers, which are naturally scattered.

When the Humble Administrator's Garden was first built, there were many scenic spots in the park, including not only the main residence, but also more than 30 scenic spots such as Dongyuan (hometown) and Xiyuan. Humble Administrator's Garden covers an area of more than 60 mu, with water as the main part, and many buildings are built near the water. The landscape of the whole park is divided into three parts: east, west and east. After liberation, the east entrance of Guiyuan Garden (East Garden) was re-expanded on the abandoned site, mainly including Lan Xuetang, Furong Pavilion, Tian Quan Pavilion, Kuangjian Pavilion and Xiangxiang Pavilion. In the middle are pools, rocks, trees, pavilions and other scenery; Yuanxiangtang is located in the center of the garden, with doors in the north and south and windows in the east and west. It is a unique hall with four sides, standing on a low bluestone platform. There is a rockery in the front hall, and the platform in the back hall is built by water. Taipei Lake is divided into two small islands by heaped-up mountains. There are pavilions on the island, just opposite the hall. There are lush trees and snowy pavilions on the mountain, which stand high above a garden; Planting willows along the lake, surrounded by plums, blooming in winter and spring, Leng Xiang overflowing. There is also the loquat garden in the east of Yuanxiangtang, the frost pavilion on the island and the green pavilion on the north wall. , all have their own unique ways; The pavilion is like a wing, surrounded by cloisters, reflecting each other and echoing each other. The Jianshan Building in the north of the promenade stands in the lotus pond, which is a two-story low-rise water pavilion surrounded by water on three sides and rockery on one side, creating an artistic effect of landscape pavilions, harmony and tranquility against still water. What is most worth mentioning is the Xiaocanglang Water House in the southwest of Yuanxiangtang, which is a three-room water pavilion above the lake. There is a still water pavilion outside the south window, where you can see the clear water passing through the pavilion and the bamboo stones in front of the south wall. In the north, you can pass the pavilions around the lotus pond, and from a distance, you can see the Jianshan Building in the lotus pond with beautiful scenery.

I love Suzhou, and I love decorating Suzhou gardens!
