Caixi Town is a well-known "labor export town". As early as the early 1990s, the local Party committee and government introduced the varieties of Jiangxi Ganzhou Citrus Research Institute through the Economic Workstation of the County Agricultural Bureau, and tried to plant the first batch of 600 navel oranges in Da Gui Village, taking the opportunity of the Provincial Department of Agriculture to promote famous and excellent varieties in the whole province. At first, the enthusiasm of farmers was not very high. From 65438 to 0995, the leaders of this town came back from Zhangzhou to inspect agricultural production, deeply touched, and determined to make great efforts to make the local navel orange planting stronger and bigger.

Soon, the "Daping Fruit Farm Command" was established in the town, and nearly 500 mu of open space was opened on Daping Mountain in Xibei Village to develop navel orange planting, and 400 mu of land was distributed to farmers in Xibei Village by subsidizing half of seedlings. The remaining 100 mu of land will be planted as demonstration plots by Zhennongji Station. However, in the process of popularizing navel orange planting, a new problem has been found: only relying on farmers to plant it sporadically, the level of specialization is not high, and it can't play a huge benefit at all! Only by introducing large merchants' investment, forming a demonstration effect and carrying out industrialized operation can we better drive the masses to become rich. Therefore, with the help of relevant departments of cities and counties, Yeong-hwa Seo, a Macao businessman, decided to invest 6.5438+0.8 million yuan in Cai Xi to build a 700-mu navel orange base. The fruit farm started production from 654.38+0.999, and entered the high-yield period in 2002. Many local farmers have secretly calculated an account for Yeong-hwa Seo: the output value of 700 mu navel orange is several million yuan, what a considerable income! The farmers' ideas suddenly came alive. To this end, the town timely organized 14 village party branch secretary and village director to visit Ganzhou, Jiangxi, the largest navel orange base in China. Seeing the vigorous development of navel orange industry in Ganzhou, the enthusiasm of developing fruit industry in the whole town is high. In order to scientifically plan the navel orange industry for a long time, on the basis of full investigation, the town put forward the development plan of "building a 10,000-mu navel orange base", focusing on three 1,000-mu demonstration films. Soon, by the end of 1999, there were 385 farmers planting navel oranges in the town.

Cai Xi navel orange can be "unique" with excellent quality, thanks to the town's vigorous promotion of organic fertilizer and the implementation of pollution-free standardized planting of new scientific and technological technologies such as "controlling mites with mites". Fruit farmers start with the most basic daily management of fruit trees, pay close attention to pest control, and ensure the pollution-free nature of Cai Xi navel orange. The town also actively encourages the innovation of planting technology, squeezes out funds every year for pollution-free technical training, experimental demonstration of new technologies and new varieties and detection of agricultural products, and contacts the departments of industry and commerce, agriculture and health to clean up and rectify the agricultural resources market, standardize business practices, and prohibit the "three high" pesticides from entering the market, thus providing a source guarantee for pollution-free navel orange production. "Cai Xi Navel Orange" was registered in June 2003, and was certified as a pollution-free product by the Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture in February 2003. From June 5438 to February 2005, it was named as a national famous agricultural product by the Ministry of Agriculture, and its fruit was tested as a high-quality agricultural product by the National Citrus Research Institute.

In order to solve the worries of navel orange growers, the town specially dispatched cadres to set up a navel orange sales team, and vigorously promoted "Cai Xi navel orange" in various forms, so that navel oranges were exported to Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Guangzhou in Guangdong, Xiamen, Fuzhou and Shishi in this province. The market sales prospects of the products are promising, which makes farmers feel the benefits of developing navel oranges and injects new impetus into the industrialization development of navel oranges in this town. The town's navel orange planting area has reached 8350 mu, with 4 15 navel orange farmers, demonstration bases 1 10,000 mu, 100-mu demonstration sites 12, and 25 50-mu demonstration sites. In 2007 alone, the total output reached 1700 tons, with an output value of 5.5 million yuan.
