Sound wave nouns explain the concept of medical imaging: ultrasound is a commonly used medical imaging technology, which forms images of human internal structures through the reflection of sound waves.

1, introduction of ultrasound:

Ultrasonic wave is a kind of high-frequency sound wave, which usually refers to sound wave with frequency greater than 20kHz. The transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves are completed by an ultrasonic probe, which contains one or more components for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves.

Ultrasonic waves will be reflected and scattered by tissues when they propagate inside the human body. These reflected and scattered signals will be received by the probe and converted into electrical signals, and then an ultrasonic image will be formed after signal processing and image reconstruction.

2, the intensity of ultrasonic wave:

Ultrasonic intensity refers to the sound energy density in the process of ultrasonic propagation, usually in W/cm. The intensity of ultrasonic wave will affect the penetration depth and reflection intensity of ultrasonic wave to tissue, so it is necessary to control the intensity of ultrasonic wave in ultrasonic examination to avoid damage to tissue.

Application of ultrasonic wave:

1, cleaning:

The application principle of ultrasonic cleaning is to convert the short-wave signal sent by the ultrasonic generator into short-wave mechanical wave through the transducer and propagate it into the medium. The ultrasonic wave in the cleaning liquid alternately radiates forward in the cleaning liquid, which makes the liquid flow and produces tens of thousands of tiny bubbles (cavitation nuclei) existing in the liquid.

When the sound intensity reaches a certain value, the bubbles grow rapidly and then suddenly close. When the bubble is closed, a shock wave is generated, which generates thousands of atmospheres around it, destroying insoluble dirt and dispersing it in the cleaning solution. When the granules are wrapped by oil stains and attached to the surface of the cleaning part, the oil is emulsified and the solid particles are separated, thus achieving the purpose of cleaning the surface of the cleaning part.

2. Physical examination:

The working principle of medical ultrasound examination is to emit ultrasonic waves into the human body. When it meets the interface in the body, it will reflect and refract, and it may be absorbed and attenuated in human tissues. Combining anatomical knowledge, normal and pathological changes, we can diagnose whether the examined organ is sick or not.
