This direction is mainly engaged in the research of traditional civil law, including the general theory of civil law, property law, contract law, personality right law, tort law and other legal fields. Civil law is the most basic law in China's market economy, and the teaching and research work in this direction plays an important role in China's legal system construction and market economy development. After the founding of New China, the Law School of the National People's Congress first set up a major in civil law, compiled the first civil law textbook, and undertook the task of training teachers for many universities in China. Since the resumption of the National People's Congress, teachers in this field have participated in drafting many important laws, such as General Principles of Civil Law, Contract Law and Property Law, and trained a large number of high-quality doctoral students, master students and nearly 1,000 senior judges. This direction has achieved some results in the following aspects.

1, general principles of civil law. Professor Tong Rou established the status, adjustment object and system of civil law before his death, and these views have always been the mainstream of civil law. On this basis, Professor Wang Liming and others further developed the theory of general principles of civil law and published a series of monographs. The research on the civil code system has been completed and the consultation report has been submitted to the National People's Congress. The research on major and difficult issues in China's Civil Code won the first "Three Hundred" original publishing project (humanities and social sciences).

2. Property law. As early as the 1980s, this direction organized many discussions on state-owned property rights and management rights of state-owned enterprises, and published a series of monographs such as Research on State Ownership. In recent years, he has published works such as Theory of Property Law and Research on Property Law, and undertaken the drafting of important legislative proposals such as Expert Proposal Draft of Property Law and Draft Proposal Draft of State-owned Assets Management Law entrusted by NPC Law Committee. Our direction also organized experts and scholars from all over the country to write and publish a book "Discussion on Difficult Problems of China Property Law" (* * *1.20,000 words). In the process of attracting the attention of the world property law, academic leaders and professors in this research direction participated in the whole process of drafting the property law, convincingly explained and demonstrated relevant issues, and organized 10 international and domestic seminars to deeply discuss major issues of the property law. Many views and opinions of these scholars have been absorbed by the Property Law, which has effectively promoted the formulation and promulgation of this extremely important law.

3. Contract law. Since 1980s, the course of contract law has been offered to undergraduates and postgraduates. Since the 1990s, case teaching has been first implemented among graduate students, and books such as New Theory of General Principles of Contract Law, Difficult Cases of Contract Law, and Liability for Breach of Contract have been published. Professor Wang Liming is one of the main drafters of contract law.

4. Personality right law and tort law. He published the first monograph and teaching material of personality right law in China, and undertook a number of research projects on difficult problems and legal protection of personality right law. Published a large number of monographs. Our direction took the lead in setting up the course of tort law, published the first textbook of tort law in China, and undertook the compilation of the textbook of personality rights law and tort law of the Ministry of Justice. We actively participated in the drafting and formulation of the Tort Liability Law, completed the expert suggestions of the Tort Liability Law of China, and submitted them to the NPC Legal Work Committee.

5. Civil evidence law. Entrusted by the Law Committee of the National People's Congress, this direction is engaged in the drafting and research of the expert proposal draft of China's civil evidence law. Therefore, the Civil Affairs Department of China Evidence Legislation Research Center headed by Professor Wang Liming was established. In cooperation with the Supreme People's Court, he held several seminars on "Legislation of Civil Evidence", published four volumes of "Research and Practice Series of Evidence Law" with nearly 3 million words, and organized the translation of foreign evidence law materials with about 6,543,800 words.

Professor Wang Liming, the academic leader, is the first doctor of civil law in New China. 199 1 was awarded the title of "China doctor with outstanding contributions" by the state. 1995 was named "Top Ten Outstanding Young Jurists" by china law society; 1997 has been listed as "training plan for young and middle-aged academic leaders across the century" by the Ministry of Education. Family law and social law

This direction is divided into marriage and family law and social law. Among them, marriage and family law is mainly engaged in the research of marriage and family legal system, including marriage and family law, adoption law, inheritance law and other legal fields; Social law is mainly engaged in the research of labor law and social security law. In 1950s, our department organized and compiled textbooks and academic works on marriage and family law and labor law. Postgraduates in marriage and family law and labor law were enrolled in the early 1980s, which was the first discipline in China to enroll doctoral students in marriage and family law. This direction has made some achievements in the following aspects:

Marriage and family law. The earliest course "Marriage and Family Law" has been in a leading position in theoretical research, and a series of textbooks and monographs on marriage and family law have been published, among which the textbook "Marriage Law" won the excellent textbook award of the Ministry of Education. Researchers in this field participated in the drafting and legislative research of two new China laws, such as Marriage Law and Population and Family Planning Law, and were the main authors of the second draft of Marriage Law and Population and Family Planning Law. He has submitted expert suggestions on amending the marriage law to the the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) Law Committee and participated in many legislative demonstration activities; And undertook the research work of large-scale scientific research projects such as "improving the legal system of marriage and family in China".

2. Inheritance law. Published the first textbook of inheritance law in China and won the excellent textbook award of the Ministry of Education. Published the first monograph on comparative inheritance law in China. Researchers in this direction are studying the modern legal system of property inheritance.

3. Labor law. Editor-in-chief of the first labor law textbook in China, won the excellent textbook award of the Ministry of Justice; Also published a series of labor law textbooks and monographs. Our researchers participated in the drafting of the Labor Law, the Labor Contract Law and supporting regulations, and were the main authors of the draft Labor Law. Researchers in this direction are studying the revision of the Labor Law and the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Labor Contract Law.

4. Social Security Law. Publish the textbook of Social Security Law and some academic monographs. Our researchers gave lectures on the legal system of social security law for the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC). The institute of labor and social security law in this direction is an important institution for the study of labor and social security law in China, and has held many important international and domestic academic seminars such as "Sino-French Labor Law and Social Security Law". In this direction, the first legal research and service institution specializing in the protection of the rights and interests of the disabled in China-China Renmin University Legal Research and Service Center for the Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Disabled was established. Professor Long Yifei, an academic leader, is an early scholar who obtained a doctorate in civil law in China. He is currently the vice president of the Law School of the National People's Congress, the director of the Institute of Marriage and Family Law, the vice president of the china law society Marriage Law Research Association, and the expert consultant of six national ministries and commissions, including the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. He has participated in the drafting and legislative research of marriage law, population and family planning law, women's rights and interests protection law, social insurance law and other laws, and is the main author of many draft laws. This direction is mainly engaged in the teaching and scientific research of various disciplines of commercial law, including the general theory of commercial law, company law, securities law, negotiable instrument law, insurance law, maritime law and other departmental laws. Commercial law is a special law of civil law, and its theoretical development cannot be separated from the theoretical development of civil law. Since the 1980s, the Law School of the National People's Congress has taken the lead in offering courses such as general commercial law, foreign-related civil and commercial law, company law, insurance law and maritime law. In the 1990s, he also wrote and published the first general commercial law book and the first legal book on securities issuance and trading in China. Our teachers participated in the drafting and legislative discussion of Company Law, Securities Law and Administrative Regulations on Company Securities. This direction has been identified as the main subject of the National Key Base of Liberal Arts (Civil and Commercial Law Research Center), which has obvious basic and comprehensive advantages.

1. Introduction to Commercial Law. Our direction is to take the lead in offering general courses in commercial law in China (and in teaching in Hong Kong and Taiwan). Chinese researchers have compiled two books and textbooks "Introduction to Commercial Law in China", which have had an important impact on domestic teaching and research and have been widely used. At present, the researchers in this direction are further deepening the research on the basic theory of commercial law, and intend to make an overall research result of commercial law suitable for the development requirements of various departments of commercial law in China.

2. Company Law. In the early 1990s, we opened a company law course for graduate students who were jointly taught by NPC Law School and Hong Kong and Taiwan. The works and related teaching materials written by Chinese researchers have an important influence in China, and they have long participated in the legislative activities of the Company Law and related laws and regulations. At present, the research on the theory of company law is deepening, and it is planned to make forward-looking and theoretical research results in recent years.

3. Securities Law. This subject is in a leading position in the teaching and research of securities law in China, and it is the first to offer securities law courses in China (and in Hong Kong and Taiwan) and recruit doctoral students in securities law. And specially held training courses on securities law for employees of Shenzhen Stock Exchange and more than 40 domestic securities companies to teach related courses. China's first book on securities law, Securities Issuance and Trading (the book has been reprinted in the 5th edition), was written by people in this field, and the first textbook for securities practitioners' qualification examination, Securities Issuance and Underwriting, and Securities Trading, was further compiled. 4. Act law. Our direction took the lead in setting up the course of bill law in China, and published the monograph "China Bill Law" in the early 1990s, and took the lead in compiling and publishing the textbook "Bill Law" after the reform of China's bill legislation. Researchers in this direction plan to make a systematic and in-depth study of China's bill system and make forward-looking research results in line with international bill trading practices.

5. Maritime Law and Insurance Law. Since the mid-1980s, our staff have taken the lead in offering courses in maritime law and insurance law in domestic law colleges, and have compiled and published six maritime law textbooks and six insurance law books.

Professor Dong Ansheng, an academic leader, is an early scholar of civil and commercial law and doctoral supervisor in China.
