Discipline construction of special economic animal breeding

Science and Technology of Economic Animal Husbandry of Northeast Agricultural University was established in 1987. After 15 years of construction, great progress has been made in teaching staff, scientific research, personnel training, laboratory construction and academic exchange. In 2000, it formed a national first-class discipline of animal husbandry with two disciplines including nutrition, animal genetics and breeding and grassland science in our college, and was awarded the university-level key of Northeast Agricultural University in 2004.

Breeding of special economic animals is a new discipline, which mainly studies the domestication, reproduction, disease prevention and product utilization of medicinal animals (forest frogs and sika deer), fur animals (minks and foxes) and ornamental animals (peacocks and pet dogs). There are two main research directions in the discipline of economic animal husbandry in Northeast Agricultural University. In the direction of "special economic feeding", the characteristics, laws and research methods of nutritional requirements of special economic animals, as well as the development methods and ways of special economic animal feed, are deeply discussed, the basic theory of special economic animal production is further improved, the research potential of special economic animal compound feed is fully tapped, and serial and complementary special economic animal compound feed is developed. The research direction of "Genetic Breeding of Economic Animals" takes special economic animals with high economic value as the main research object, and studies the breeding mechanism and new breeding technology of special economic animals based on modern biology, breeding science, breeding science and bioengineering technology, and studies its own characteristics and laws, laying the foundation for large-scale production of economic animals.

First, the historical evolution of this discipline

The discipline of animal genetics, breeding and reproduction in Northeast Agricultural University was merged from the two disciplines of animal genetics and breeding founded by 1948 during the adjustment of national disciplines in 1998. Postgraduates were enrolled in this discipline from 1978, master degree was established from198/kloc-0, doctoral degree was established from 1986, 1989 was rated as a provincial key discipline, 1999 as a key discipline of the Ministry of Agriculture, and in 2000. The Department of Animal Husbandry of Northeast Agricultural University set up a postdoctoral mobile station in 1995, which was approved as a first-class discipline point with the right to confer doctoral degrees in 2000. The discipline of animal genetics, breeding and reproduction is the key construction discipline of "2 1 1" project of Northeast Agricultural University. In the same field in China, this subject has a relatively leading academic position. Under the leadership of Professor Xu Zhenying, the founder of the animal husbandry discipline in our school, and with the joint efforts of the older generation of teachers such as Sheng Zhilian, Zhang Dapeng, Han Guangwei, Miao, Hu, Qi Shourong and Yao, the discipline has achieved fruitful results in teaching and scientific research, and made important contributions to improving the scientific and technological level and production level of animal husbandry in China.

Second, the academic echelon

As one of the key disciplines of Northeast Agricultural University's "2 1 1" project, this discipline has made great progress in building a solid academic team and cultivating talents after long-term careful construction. The age structure of the academic team is obviously younger, the academic level is obviously improved, and the professional title structure is becoming more and more reasonable. There are 22 faculty members in the discipline of animal genetics, breeding and reproduction, including 7 professors, 5 associate professors (including equivalent titles), 6 lecturers and 4 teaching assistants. 9 graduate tutors, including 4 doctoral tutors; Teachers with master's degree or above 16, including 7 teachers with doctoral degree. Since 2000, 6 backbone teachers have studied abroad for more than half a year, 5 have studied at home for more than half a year, 8 have participated in international academic conferences, 40 have participated in national academic conferences, and 6 have visited and given lectures abroad.

Third, education and teaching.

The discipline of animal genetics, breeding and reproduction in our school has made outstanding contributions to the cultivation of senior talents in our industry. Since 1980s, this discipline has trained 5 postdoctoral students, 3 doctoral students1person and 3 master students 136 people. Among them, since 2000, 3 postdoctoral students, 50 doctoral students 10 and 50 master students have been trained. At present, there are 2 postdoctoral students, 4 doctoral students/kloc-0 and 8 master students/kloc-0. Since the Ninth Five-Year Plan, he has presided over 2 distance education courseware projects of the Ministry of Education, 5 teaching and research projects of the Provincial Department of Education and 6 school-level teaching and research projects. The research results won the second prize of national excellent teaching achievement 1 item, 4 provincial excellent teaching achievement awards, 2 school excellent teaching achievement awards, and published more than 20 teaching research papers. At present, this discipline has offered more than 30 courses, including doctor's degree, master's degree, undergraduate course and specialist course, for more than 10 majors.
