Liu Guangzhi (1923.3.11-2014.1.19) is an expert in prospecting engineering, a professor-level senior engineer, and a prospecting engineer in the Geological Department of New China. Large mines such as Baiyunebo, Tongguanshan and Panzhihua have organized comprehensive exploration of various types of work and made important contributions. Leading the research and popularization of five technologies: directional drilling, wireline coring drilling, air drilling, reverse circulation drilling and bottom hole power machine drilling, which not only makes China's drilling engineering rank among the advanced in the world, but also proves the deep reserves of a number of old mines. Creatively control the land subsidence for Shanghai, control the serious fire accident in Tiandong coalfield of Guangxi with small drilling equipment, and drill the first oil well in Songliao Basin. The editor-in-chief of the Chinese and English edition of Diamond Drilling Manual won the first prize of ministerial scientific and technological progress.
