"People are used to using' poison bags', which are both victims of carcinogens and unwittingly spreaders of carcinogens." Li Shuguang, a professor of environmental medicine at Tongji University School of Medicine, reminded that many cooked foods such as fried dough sticks packed in thin and pungent recycled plastic bags spread early, and carcinogens seeped out faster and were more harmful.
So, how to identify whether plastic bags are toxic?
Sensory detection method: non-toxic plastic bags are milky white, translucent, or colorless and transparent, and feel lubricated. Toxic plastic bags are turbid or yellowish in color and sticky to the touch.
Water detection method: put the plastic bag into the water and press it into the bottom of the water, so that the non-toxic plastic bag can surface and the toxic plastic bag sinks.
Jitter detection method: grab one end of the plastic bag by hand and shake it vigorously. Non-toxic with crisp sound, and toxic with dull sound.
Fire detection method: non-toxic polyethylene plastic bags are flammable and the flame is blue. When burning, they drop like candles and tears, and have a paraffin smell. Toxic PVC plastic bags are non-flammable, and will be extinguished immediately after leaving the fire, giving off an irritating smell.
