There are two key points:
First, "reflection", historical thinking is to reconstruct and re-understand what happened in the past, and this process needs constant "reflection";
The second is "correlation", which is related to ancient and modern times. Events with no modern value have no historical value; Events that have no historical influence (or events that cannot be constructed) are also worth reflecting on the significance of historical reconstruction.
The real world is a complex system.
However, the historical writing we see seems to be a few words or dozens of words. However, we need to "reflect" and "think" from this necessary narrative to reconstruct the historical truth or reality.
This process needs the support of historical materials and historical imagination.
