In a blink of an eye, meaningful college life is coming to an end. As we all know, graduates have to pass the final graduation thesis, which is a form prepared in advance to test the results of university study. So what kind of graduation thesis is good? The following is the English version of my graduation thesis defense self-report for reference only. Welcome to reading.

English version of graduation thesis defense readme 1 good morning, members of the jury. I'm * * *, and my supervisor is * * *. With her constant encouragement and guidance, I finished my thesis. Now, it's time for the show. I will show you my efforts and welcome any corrections. The topic of my thesis is about the conversion of parts of speech in translation.

I chose this as my topic for the following reasons. Different languages have different standards to distinguish parts of speech. Every language has its own special structure. And there is no corresponding part of speech between different languages. In order to make the translation more authentic and standardized, translators often adopt the method of part-of-speech conversion.

Based on the different characteristics of English and Chinese, part-of-speech conversion plays an increasingly important role in English-Chinese translation. Based on the above facts, I chose "On the Conversion of Parts of Speech" as the topic of my thesis.

I hope that by studying this topic, we can know the importance of English part-of-speech conversion to Chinese translation. Through conversion, we can get a better version and improve our translation skills.

There are great differences in thinking and expression between Chinese and English. English is a static language and tends to use more nouns. Chinese is a dynamic language, and verbs are often used in Chinese.

So when we translate English into Chinese, we should know this and transfer parts of speech.

Next is the outline of my thesis. In the main part of this paper, I divide it into five parts.

The first part introduces the basic concepts of part of speech and part of speech conversion.

The second part discusses the definition of translation and emphasizes the importance of part-of-speech conversion in the process of translation.

The third part illustrates four basic methods of part-of-speech conversion through examples. English words have been transformed into Chinese verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs.

The fourth part puts forward the problems existing in the process of transformation and puts forward some suggestions to solve them.

The fifth part draws some conclusions that the conversion between parts of speech is necessary for us to achieve good translation. Facts have proved that we can master the transformation well and improve the translation quality. In addition, we must constantly learn and explore in various translation practices. All right! That's all. Thank you! Please ask questions.

The topic of this paper is to study the causes of Gothic style in A Rose for Emily from a feminist perspective. I chose this as my topic for the following reasons. First of all, I like literary works, especially Gothic literary works. Secondly, I am familiar with this short story, because it is a text in our intensive teaching course, and I have taught it for more than three times. Finally, as a woman, I am keen on feminist research. Based on the above facts, I chose to study the causes of Gothic style in A Rose for Emily from a feminist perspective as the topic of my thesis.

I hope that by studying this short story, we can learn more about southern American women in a specific history and culture, and more importantly, help women in modern society know ourselves more deeply, help us improve our independence and self-confidence, and pay more attention to our mental health.

My thesis topic today is about online novels. In recent years, online literature has developed rapidly. Online novels are one of them. In junior high schools, high schools and even universities, there are many online novels "addicts". Based on the above facts, I chose On Internet Fiction as the topic of my thesis.

The last part, prediction. Judging from the internal strength pattern, at present, China's outstanding writers mainly hold a critical and pessimistic attitude towards online novels. If the major literary websites strengthen the supervision of vulgar, pornographic and bad works, and at the same time pursue new articles and in-depth articles by newcomers, online novels will be accepted by more people.

It's not a low-level novel, but a pleasure.

My thesis is entitled "angela carter's Study of Myth —— Taking the Female Archetype in The Passion of New Eve as an Example". I chose this as my topic for the following reasons.

Angela carter (1940- 1992) is an outstanding feminist writer, and her influence on British women's writing is "crucial in this opening and transformation" [23]. 20 14 is the 22nd anniversary of angela carter's death. During these 22 years, her works have been widely taught internationally and caused many critical debates. In a survey conducted by Cristina Bacchilega and Danielle M. Roemer [2], Carter is one of the most popular female writers in North American programs. In her relatively limited life, she left us an amazing amount of legacy, covering novels, short stories, children's stories, drama, non-fiction and other fields. Her keen observation and profound insight, as well as her destructive wit and bitter satire in Carter's works, make her an iconic figure in English literature. Many scholars and critics have studied angela carter from different angles, including Gothic, magical realism, feminism, postmodernism and so on. As a prolific writer, he is always ready to blur the boundaries between different schools. Carter left us a wonderful world to study.

With the rise of western women's movement and the development of feminist criticism in1960s, feminist methods have become a powerful weapon for those who care about women's liberation and legal rights. Although women's social status has been greatly improved due to the contributions of countless predecessors, the fundamental problems still exist. Carter is famous as a feminist writer for his versatile and avant-garde reputation. Considering the predicament faced by women today, it is necessary for us to explore her profound thinking on female characteristics and gender relations. The Passion of New Eve is one of Carter's most representative works, which is of great value for studying her feminist thoughts and opinions.

Next, the outline of my thesis. In the main part of this paper, I divide it into five parts.

The first chapter is the introduction of the paper, including the research background, purpose and significance, and the structure of the paper.

The second chapter introduces angela carter's life and works, as well as the background information of The Passion of New Eve. The paper also reviews the research on angela carter and his works at home and abroad, summarizes the past achievements, and points out the future development direction.

The third chapter makes a retrospective study of feminism and archetypal criticism. The author tries to sort out the origin and development of feminism and show its important role in Carter's life. Then there is the history of archetypal criticism and the classic female archetypes in mythology. Carter believes that these rigid and monotonous images hinder women's freedom and liberation, and she tries to break these images with the strategy of de-myth, calling on people to treat heterosexual relations rationally.

The fourth chapter is the main part of the paper. Through the in-depth analysis of The Passion of New Eve, this paper shows Carter's de-myth of "witch", "mother goddess" and "Eve" in the text respectively. Leila is the incarnation of Delilah, a famous witch in the Bible, and can't escape the fate of being materialized by men and herself. Exposing the "tempter" is only a victim, not a symbol of evil. Carter exposed the oppression and exploitation of women in the patriarchal society. The "mother" in Beulah is a severe satire on the goddess in mythology. Carter broke this legend by revealing the nature of mother's surgery and the patriarchal values hidden behind her so-called matriarchal kingdom, warning the danger and impracticality of extreme matriarchal system. Her most convincing example is Eve, the most important female character in the Bible. Her transformation from chauvinist to real woman in the story shows that gender, rather than genetic characteristics, is the result of social influence and unremitting imitation. At the end of the story, Carter put forward "androgyny" as a solution to the current problem, suggesting that mutual respect and understanding are the only way to achieve gender harmony.

The fifth chapter is the conclusion, which summarizes the limitations of the paper and suggestions for further research.

All right! That's all. Thank you! Please ask questions.
