Mifepristone is a new anti-progestogen drug, which has no progestogen, estrogen, androgen and anti-estrogen activity. It can bind to progesterone receptor and glucocorticoid receptor, and its affinity to endometrial progesterone receptor is 5 times stronger than progesterone. Mifepristone can induce delivery at all stages of pregnancy in pregnant animals and can be used as a non-surgical anti-early pregnancy drug. The effective dose has no obvious effect on cortisol level. Because drugs can't induce enough uterine activity, when they are only used to prevent early pregnancy, the rate of incomplete abortion is higher, but it can increase the sensitivity of uterus to prostaglandin.
