Observation report on growth rate of cactus
Study on the rot of cactus cultivated in 1 incubator. Question: There are many kinds of immortal plants, with peculiar and elegant shapes, thorns, hairs and colorful colors, so they are deeply loved by flower lovers. Xiancao is native to the arid desert areas of tropical and subtropical America, and has the characteristics of drought resistance and high temperature resistance. Under the guidance of the teacher, the students of our plant interest group have cultivated many immortal plants with self-made foam incubators, so that cacti can thrive in winter. However, in this semester, we found that many immortal plants have rotted and died for unknown reasons. Later, we checked the information and found that rot is the most common failure phenomenon in cactus flower cultivation. Cutting is easy to rot, grafting is easy to rot, sowing seedlings are easy to rot, and the formed plants will suddenly rot when they are good. The causes of decay can be classified into two categories: one is pathological and the other is physiological. Because our foam incubator is relatively sealed, and when planting cactus, we added some drugs such as carbendazim and carbofuran to disinfect the soil, so we think that the cause of decay may be physiological. Most of the physical decay is caused by poor management. Excessive moisture and waterlogging of potted plants will often lead to hypoxia and suffocation of the roots, so that the roots will be quickly destroyed and the plants may rot. Inappropriate temperature adjustment in the cultivation site continuously exceeds the optimum temperature for plant growth, which accelerates the respiration rate of plants and consumes more energy than that formed by long-term photosynthesis. In this case, plants grow weakly, and even lead to decay in severe cases. So what made our cactus rot? To this end, we have carried out this research.

Second, the research purpose: 1. Find out the causes of decay and necrosis of immortal plants. 2. Study the methods and countermeasures to prevent cactus rot.

III. Time of investigation: September1August-September 29th, 2006.

Fourth, researchers: Fifth, research methods: experimental analysis, observation records, collation and summary.

The research process of intransitive verbs;

Experiment 1: Effect of humidity on cactus.

1. Put two identical cactus pots into two foam incubators respectively.

2. Take box ① cactus as control sample, spray proper amount of water every day, and keep the humidity at about 30%. (No more than 30%) Spray the cactus in Box 2 with twice the water and keep the humidity at 60%-70%. (Data measured by hygrometer)

3. Put both incubators in a cool and suitable place in Chaoyang.

4. Observe for two weeks and record the growth of cactus in two incubators every day.

Experimental results of the influence of "humidity" on cactus (table 1)

Growth of cactus in daytime (boxes ① and ②)

Monday, good, good, good, good, good Tuesday, good, good Wednesday.

Thursday was good, and the growing point at the top began to turn bright green. Good Friday, the tender green part expands well.

Saturday is fine, Sunday is fine, and the sphere is a little yellow.

Monday is fine. The sphere continues to turn yellow and dark. Tuesday becomes full. The lower part of the sphere turns dark yellow.

On Wednesday, the surface of the sphere began to glow, and black spots appeared in some places at the bottom. Thursday is fine.

Friday is good, the bottom is basically black, Saturday is good, the sphere becomes soft and will sag when pinched, and Sunday is good.

Analysis of experimental results: From the table 1, it can be seen that the cactus in box 2 (humidity kept at 60%-70%) appeared dark yellow and black spots after six days, and finally basically rotted, indicating that high humidity will affect the growth of cactus, and continuous high humidity will make cactus rot.
