American Science Citation Index (SCI) was founded by institute for scientific information in Philadelphia, USA on 1957. Over the past 40 years, SCI (or ISI) database has been developing continuously, and it has become the most important large-scale database in the contemporary world, ranking first among the six famous international retrieval systems.

Evaluation standard 1976, ISI-derived journal citation report, JCR) provides a set of statistical data to show the citation of scientific journals, the number of published papers and the average citation of papers on the basis of SCI. The impact factor (IF) of each journal can be calculated in JCR. The level of influencing factors can reflect the influence of a journal to some extent.

Engineering index

Engineering Index (EI) is the oldest large-scale comprehensive retrieval tool, which was founded by the American Federation of Engineers in 1884. Does not include basic theoretical research articles. EI enjoys a high reputation in the academic, engineering and information circles all over the world, and it is recognized as an important retrieval tool by the scientific and technological circles.
