As a fan of A Dream of Red Mansions, I have not only read three versions of A Dream of Red Mansions: JOE, Chicken Feather and Chen Geng, but also read many academic works of Dream of Red Mansions, but I always have some regrets. Because I have made so many academic achievements in A Dream of Red Mansions over the years, I even published the first eighty chapters of A Dream of Red Mansions, which is said to be the most suitable for Cao Xueqin. Why didn't anyone continue to write the sequel to A Dream of Red Mansions, which is most in line with Cao Xueqin's original intention? So in private, I also had the idea of trying to continue writing a dream of red mansions. But my knowledge of Dream of Red Mansions and literary accomplishment are shallow, and I can only look at the ocean and sigh, so far I dare not write.
A Dream of Red Mansions is not an ordinary excellent literary work. It shows a grand life picture full of strange imagination and in line with the author's historical truth. It is not an exaggeration to use the word "extensive and profound" to describe readers' sighing at the mountains. Therefore, when the author Cao Xueqin wrote A Dream of Red Mansions, he also "read it for ten years and added and deleted it five times", which was really "ten years of painstaking efforts".
Continuing to write A Dream of Red Mansions is a very arduous, complicated and tedious project, which needs to be fully prepared in many aspects. Although ZHI Yanzhai and ZHI Yiou's understanding of A Dream of Red Mansions is not exactly the same as Cao Xueqin's, it is still controversial whether the sixty-fourth, seventy-ninth and eighty chapters were written by Cao Xueqin in the first eighty chapters. However, when continuing the book, we should still be cautious about the contents of Cao Xueqin's first eighty chapters and the comments of Zhi Yanzhai and Zhen Dui.
I don't quite agree with Mr. Liu's views on A Dream of Red Mansions, but his continuation is a good attempt. After all, the content of A Dream of Red Mansions has been lost since the 1980s, and the people who read it have long since passed away, leaving only incoherent phrases for future generations to refer to. Therefore, the sequel to A Dream of Red Mansions can only be "crossing the river by feeling the stones". I believe that through repeated attempts, the content of the sequel will gradually approach Cao Xueqin's original intention. But the final result can only be infinitely close to Cao Xueqin, not equal to Cao Xueqin. Even Cao Xueqin himself said, "Who knows the taste?" The implication is that no one can really fully appreciate the taste, only he can really fully appreciate the taste!
In order to prevent misleading readers from thinking that what Mr. Liu continued to write is equivalent to what Cao Xueqin wrote after eighty chapters, it is suggested that the publishing house should not write misleading words on the cover and preface of the book, let alone put them together with the contents of the first eighty chapters!
There are indications that Liu's sequel to A Dream of Red Mansions is likely to enter the operational stage. The newspaper said that when Liu was asked if he would continue to write A Dream of Red Mansions, he said: "This is a much more difficult project than continuing to write. There are already many' red fans' on the Internet for me to continue writing. The publishing house has also contributed to me many times, and I am considering it. Maybe I will try a old bones. " This statement is quite awesome-"joint request", "duplicate contract" and "desperate efforts". Doesn't this mean that both subjective and objective conditions are mature? If we don't "continue" now, when will it be? Maybe in a year or so, A Dream of Red Mansions published by a publishing house will be crowded on the shelves, but Gao E, a "political schemer", has been eliminated.
In addition to being out, there are six glittering characters printed under the title: Cao Xueqin and Liu. You said Gao E was right-it doesn't matter to live for so long. I never imagined that there was another Liu here in the sixth year of the 2nd/Kloc-0th century. That's great. Liu challenged the writer, and with a clash, his right of signature was gone.
Whether Liu can continue to write A Dream of Red Mansions has caused a heated discussion on the Internet. The opposing side said: why should a dog's tail continue to be marten? Positive: If Gao writers continue, will Liu writers continue? But these, I don't care, I am interested in another problem. For many readers or viewers, Liu is associated with A Dream of Red Mansions, because last year's Lecture Room launched Liu to compete with A Dream of Red Mansions, which made him a little angry. But for people with literary education, Liu is an important symbol of cultural hero. All textbooks on the history of contemporary literature in China will mention that in the late 1970s, Liu started the "scar literature" with his "head teacher", and the subsequent "Tianqiao", "Bell and Drum Tower" and "Long Shot on May 19th" all paid attention to and involved reality. In today's view, some of these works may lack literariness (such as The Head Teacher), but after all, they participated in the process of ideological emancipation and also reflected the courage of that generation of intellectuals to criticize reality.
However, since the 1990s, Liu, a cultural hero, has rapidly lost power. At first, he was still chanting "facing the world", but this "facing the world" seemed vague-not criticizing reality, but wondering how to shake hands with reality; Later, it is said that he had a poetic dream of "ten years of river's lake night rain", which made the literary world quite uneasy; Later, I probably began to study A Dream of Red Mansions, and then I came up with The Death of Qin Keqing and The Death of Wonderful Jade. As a result, the battlefield naturally moved to the dream world. Last year, he unveiled a Dream of Red Mansions in Lecture Room. The little devils and the owners of the Red Mansion went out in succession, each holding a mace to defend the right to interpret. This year, Liu made a comeback. Is it for revenge? I think Liu must be holding his breath: don't be unconvinced, little guy. I use 100 to make a dream of red mansions 8 times, which will open your eyes and show you what real kung fu is! It is estimated that there will be another good show in the Red Chamber, and the curtain will slowly open. When Liu Yi appeared on the stage, the "pretty girls" cheered: Hula! Wow!
This is our fascinating cultural landscape today. As for Liu, if he was a tragic hero in 1980s, he has become a comedy star or a popular lover since 1990s. He used to be a writer, and he challenged reality. Now, he is an expert, and he competes with the classics. From a cultural hero who intervenes and criticizes reality to a model worker who studies and explores escape, this change cannot but make people think deeply. Bowman in Britain said that in the transition from modernity to post-modernity, intellectuals are also spreading their words, and they have all changed from "legislators" to "interpreters". Bowman's statement is abstract, mainly because he doesn't give enough examples. If Liu Ye is taken into account, isn't the problem clear? When my graduate students talk to me about papers, they always say that it is difficult to choose a topic. Look, is Liu ready? The title is also ready-made, called "Liu expert PK as an interpreter and Liu writer as a legislator".
In this sense, I expect Liu to find a sense of language as soon as possible and continue A Dream of Red Mansions as soon as possible. Maybe I'll buy a set to think about it. Marx said: "Human anatomy is a key to monkey anatomy." Let's take a look at Liu in the mature stage first, and then look at it in the 1980s. Maybe there will be great discoveries. As for whether his continuation is successful, I don't need to worry. Because for me, continuation is only a secondary matter.
