4.2008 New Century Excellent Talents Support Plan 1. The localization of fermions with the spin of 1/2 in the movie world is studied under the background of curly geometry (the potential function of the background scalar field is V(f) = p( 1+cos2f/q)). For the usual Yukawa coupling, in q>0 and h>0, only the left-handed Fermi zero mode can be localized. However, for another coupling, in q >; 0 and h>0, as long as Q and H meet certain conditions, the left and right chiral Fermi zero modes can be localized to the thin film respectively. The corresponding papers were published in the journal Phys. Rev. D of SCI- 1.

2. By using the generalized covariant Dirac equation and the topological field theory of segment- 1 f mapping, the self-dual vortex on the extra-dimensional manifold is studied, and a new self-dual vortex equation is obtained. Using this vortex background, the Fermi zero mode in the extra dimension is studied, and the relationship between the global properties of topology and Fermi zero mode is obtained. The corresponding papers were published in SCI- 1 journals, such as JHEP and nucl.phys.b

3. The localization of various material fields in several pure geometric thick film worlds is considered. These thick films can limit gravity. Both scalar field and vector field have m >: 0, but only the zero mode is bound to the film. For the localization of massless left and right chiral fermions, the coupling between spinor and scalar must be considered. For a special coupling, there is m >;; Discrete mass spectrometry of 0. For a certain coupling constant h, only one left-handed Fermi zero mode can be localized on the thin film. The corresponding papers were published in the journal JHEP of SCI- 1.

4. The localization and mass spectra of various material fields in a kind of film world in 5-dimensional Weyl geometry are considered. For some of the film worlds, scalar field, vector field and spinor field all have mass spectra of M >: 0, and the zero modes of all fields are bound to the film. For another film world, there is a quality gap in mass spectra of various material fields. Scalar field has two bound KK modes, and vector field has one bound KK mode. For the spinor field, the number of right-handed Fermi KK modes depends on the Yukawa coupling constant H. For the positive coupling constant H, the number of right-handed Fermi KK modes is one less than that of left-handed. The corresponding papers were published in the journal JHEP of SCI- 1.

5. According to the ADD model in the extra dimension theory, Newton-inverse square law needs to be modified in the case of small scale. The spectral correction of helium-like ions by ADD model is calculated by variational method. The calculation shows that if the nuclear mass in the ion is relatively large, the correction will be relatively large. When the extra dimension is 2, the ground-state spectral frequency of he is revised to-10Hz, while that of Pb is revised to -3. 1Hz.
