Biot (1774- 1862), French physicist. His greatest contribution is the study of the polarization of light. He studied the heat conduction of solids before Fourier, and realized that convection heat transfer on the surface should be considered in the heat conduction problem, but he failed to get an analytical solution.
1804, according to the heat conduction experiment of flat wall, Biw published an academic paper, and put forward the concept that heat conduction is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the two sides and inversely proportional to the wall thickness.
