Annotations are words that introduce and comment on the vocabulary, content, background and quotations of books or articles. The annotation of ancient books began in the pre-Qin period. China in ancient times was divided into four parts, namely, annotation, explanation, biography, writing, sparseness, chapters and sentences. It contains a wide range of contents. Sound and meaning, time and place, people's deeds, allusions and background of the times are all annotation objects. There are footnotes, notes at the end of the text, and notes in brackets.
Arrangement order of references
Literature entries are arranged alphabetically by the author's surname (China's surname is based on its Chinese phonetic alphabet) and in Chinese and foreign languages respectively. At present, the entry should not be numbered, and the second line should be indented. Foreign documents come first, and China documents come last. The documents of the same author in different periods are arranged in order of publication time. Documents of the same author in the same year will be marked with English lowercase letters after the year (for example, 1999a, 1999b, 1999c).
