Legend 1
Bao 'an waist knife is a unique national handicraft of Bao 'an nationality. It is used to hanging around the waist, so it is called security waist knife. It is said that Genghis Khan had a great advantage in weapons when he occupied various countries. At that time, when the tribes struggled, some knives were broken after colliding with enemy broadswords because of their high hardness; Some of them can't stand the slashing of enemy broadsword because of their low hardness. According to legend, the Baoan people who live in Sanzhuang, Zhong 'an, Dahejia Town, Baoan Dongxiang Salar Autonomous County, Gansu Province, are descendants of blacksmiths who once made weapons for Genghis Khan. They began to make knives after receiving orders from Genghis Khan.
Due to the special production technology, this knife is both rigid and flexible, and it is of great use in the battlefield. Genghis Khan also asked them to make better knives, which needed to be tempered. They developed a flower folding knife on the basis of their previous exquisite knife-making skills. Because this kind of knife combines the hardness and toughness of the knife to the extreme, when it collides with the enemy's combat knife, the opponent's knife either cuts or rolls. This kind of knife neither folds nor rolls, and it became the favorite of Genghis Khan's men at that time. Because of the complicated production process, long construction period and low output, only officers are qualified to wear it.
At that time, after Genghis Khan unified China, these swordsmen lived with Mongols and Tibetans. Because security guards believe in Islam and are Muslims, they are different from Tibetan customs. At that time, it was the world of Tibetans, so they chased Baoan people to the top of Jishixia, and their residence was only two miles away from the nearby mountains, just to prevent Tibetans from getting away easily here.
Legend 2
A long time ago, the Baoan people walked out of a skilled waist knife craftsman. His broadsword is famous all over the world and is deeply loved by everyone. However, he is honest and selfless, and he only strikes iron for good people, not for bad people. One year, in order to please his boss, the county magistrate in his hometown gave the blacksmith 30 days to build 100 knives, otherwise his hand would be cut off. As a result, thirty days later, the blacksmith didn't make a knife for the county magistrate.
The county magistrate once again forced the blacksmith to cut his hand with a knife, which was rejected by the blacksmith. The county magistrate was furious and ordered to cut off the blacksmith's hand ... The blacksmith could no longer make a waist sword, but in order to commemorate this heroic predecessor, the younger generation of Baoan blacksmith carved a pattern with his right hand and five fingers close together on the surface of the waist knife. This design is called "No.1", No.1, which is the sword god of Baoan people.
