We students are inexperienced, so it is difficult for us to write an excellent and profound argumentative essay. In that case, why put it in the exam?
Perhaps many students have never thought about this problem, so that they fall into the misunderstanding of writing stereotyped writing. Indeed, in the writing required by the college entrance examination, templated argumentative essays are relatively easier to write and easier to get points. But for the composition in the examination room, the scores are also high and low. High marks not only need to use words and materials, but also need to reflect opinions and attitudes, and more need to make judgments and thinking.
The exam requires us to write an argumentative essay, whether it is topic-oriented, time-critical or task-driven, and we are not expected to put forward any effective and feasible opinions (after all, there is no chance of being adopted). The purpose of studying argumentative writing is more to guide us to think. We should form our own opinions, make our own judgments and think independently in the process of learning. Finally, we learn how to understand the world and establish our own moral standards.
