The factors of station scale design include: the design scale of the station should be determined according to the passenger flow distribution forecast of the long-term passenger flow peak and the needs of station traffic management and equipment room.

It should match the capacity of station halls, platforms, entrances and exits, escalators, ticket sales and other parts to meet the needs of emergency evacuation of passengers when accidents occur. The super-peak coefficient should be taken according to the different passenger flow properties determined by the station scale and surrounding land.

Station classification:

According to the tasks undertaken by the station and its political and economic status in the country, the station is divided into six levels: dedicated station, first-class station, second-class station, third-class station, fourth-class station and fifth-class station. Stations are divided into intermediate stations, section stations and marshalling stations according to their different technical operations. Stations are divided into passenger stations, freight stations and passenger and freight stations according to the nature of operation.
