The design and manufacture of ships and marine structures was founded in 1943, and the discipline of ship and marine engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University has made great progress with the increasing prosperity of the motherland. Ship and ocean engineering has the advantages of strong comprehensive strength and relatively complete technical (field) coverage. After years of construction and development, a number of major research facilities in China have been created and built, creating a milestone brilliant achievement in the development of ship and ocean engineering in China. It has formed a number of leading disciplines at home and abroad, trained a number of famous academic leaders with academicians as the core, and become a unique research and teaching base of ship and ocean engineering with complete disciplines, strong comprehensive research strength and high academic reputation in China.
Marine engineering was established in 1930. Its predecessor was the Department of Marine Engineering established by Wusong Merchant Marine College of the Ministry of Communications. It is the earliest marine engineering major in the history of engineering education in China. Postgraduates began to enroll students 1960, which is the first batch of disciplines in China with the right to confer master's degrees. 1998 was awarded a doctorate. Over the past decades, a large number of talents in the field of ship power engineering have been trained. This subject has undertaken a number of national key scientific research projects and achieved certain results.
Underwater acoustic engineering was established in 1958 under the leadership of Mr. Zhu Wuhua, focusing on the control and prediction of ship noise, and formulating the development policy of combining basic research with the needs of naval construction and combining talent training with scientific research. Over the past decades, this discipline has not only completed a number of major national defense projects and trained a large number of research talents, but also developed its own research direction.
In the ranking of first-class disciplines in China in 2003, Shanghai Jiaotong University ranked first in terms of academic team, scientific research, personnel training and academic reputation.
(1) Main research direction of this discipline
Through long-term construction, this discipline has gradually condensed several important research directions:
Ship design and manufacture: The main research fields are as follows: the design and development of various ships, the design and manufacture of digital ships, the design and research of offshore platforms and floating production systems, the design and research of offshore construction technology and equipment, the research of advanced ship manufacturing technology, and the economic and technical demonstration of water transportation system.
Ship mechanics: CFD method and its application in ship and ocean engineering: modern strength theory and structural design of ship and ocean engineering: research on fatigue life and reliability of ship-hydroelasticity theory and analysis method of ship structure: marine environment and ship performance in real sea area; Great progress has been made in the study of nonlinear hydrodynamics of ships.
Ocean engineering: this direction includes the design and development of various ocean engineering structures, fluid mechanics, structural mechanics, nonlinear hydrodynamic response, model test technology and related theories, covering design and development, theoretical and experimental research and other fields. Through the base construction, the theoretical and experimental research level of hydrodynamic performance of deep-sea platforms has been improved, and a number of national 863 projects and international cooperative research projects have been undertaken.
Marine Underwater Engineering and Science: The research on underwater engineering system design and integration technology, nonlinear problem solving and control is at the leading level in China, and it has won national and provincial honors and awards 10. This direction aims at building a world-class discipline, and according to its own characteristics, it has set up three discipline echelons, namely, research on underwater vehicle hydrodynamic performance, research on underwater vehicle manipulation and control, and research on aircraft system engineering, which has improved the discipline echelon construction and realized sustainable development.
Ship main propulsion and auxiliary system: ship main propulsion system optimization and monitoring fault diagnosis, ship main engine electronic control and intelligence. Fault diagnosis, noise and vibration analysis and control of intelligent ship marine engineering structural machinery and ship auxiliary system control monitoring.
Underwater detection technology: In this paper, the direction of underwater target echo prediction and feature extraction is deeply studied. XX method for calculating the echo characteristics of underwater targets and related software have been successfully applied to XX acoustic stealth design and XX target strength experiment in China.
(2) Teaching staff
Through the construction of key disciplines in the Tenth Five-Year Plan, an academic team with high academic level and reasonable knowledge age structure, headed by academicians and Professor distinguished professor of Yangtze River Project, has been gradually established, and a number of outstanding young academic leaders and research and teaching backbones have been trained, laying a foundation for the sustainable development of disciplines.
There are 32 professors and 9 associate professors in this discipline. Among the teachers, there are academicians of China Academy of Sciences 1 person, 2 distinguished professor of Yangtze River Project, 2 winners of Outstanding Youth Fund and 2 winners of "Outstanding Young Teacher Award" of Ministry of Education. The innovative team of "Research on Hydrodynamic Performance and Experimental Methods of New Deep-sea Platforms" was established with Liao Shijun, distinguished professor, Yangtze River as the head of the echelon, and was awarded as the innovative team of the Ministry of Education in 2005. There are not only respected and knowledgeable old professors in the teaching staff, but also a group of young and middle-aged academic backbones with innovative spirit and active in the forefront of disciplines.
(3) personnel training
Within five years, this discipline enrolled 163 graduate students, awarded 106 degrees, enrolled 88 doctoral students and awarded 38 degrees. From 200 1 up to now, * * * has won 5 national excellent doctoral theses and 6 nominated theses.
The reform plan of teaching content and curriculum system oriented to 2 1 century is being implemented, a series of excellent teaching materials have been compiled and published, the practice base for innovative talents has basically taken shape, and long-term contact has been established with practice units, which has effectively improved the effect of practice teaching. The postdoctoral mobile station of ship and ocean engineering and the enterprise postdoctoral workstations attached to the station have developed in an orderly manner. It provides good conditions for cultivating high-level research talents.
Teaching practice, social practice and various activities are important ways and carriers for students to deeply understand their majors and society, and they are important manifestations of the idea of "educating people in an all-round way".
(4) Scientific research
The construction projects of ship and ocean engineering discipline meet the needs of the country and face the forefront of science and technology. A lot of research work has been done in basic research, underwater technology research, applied basic research and major engineering technology research in the field of ship and ocean engineering, and a number of domestic leading and international advanced scientific research results have been obtained. He has undertaken nearly 100 national 973 projects, national 863 plan projects, major/general projects of National Natural Science Foundation, national outstanding youth fund, national key research projects, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and international cooperation projects, and has achieved fruitful research results, won many national, provincial and ministerial scientific and technological awards, obtained many patents and published a large number of high-level articles.
(5) Academic exchanges at home and abroad
The construction of this discipline pays attention to extensive exchanges and cooperation with internationally renowned universities and research institutions, which greatly enhances the international reputation and influence of the discipline of ship and ocean engineering, and plays an important role in promoting the discipline of ship and ocean engineering in our school and state key laboratory of ocean engineering to become internationally famous at an early date.
At present, many professors in the design and manufacture of ships and marine structures are members of the relevant committees of the most authoritative academic institutions in the field of ships and marine engineering in the world.
In the last key discipline construction, we cooperated with the Dutch Marin Research Center, Texas A & amp; M University, Yokohama National University and other famous foreign universities and research centers have carried out extensive cooperation and exchanges and hosted many international academic conferences. Through international bidding, state key laboratory of ocean engineering has undertaken more than 20 international cooperation projects, which have been highly praised by international experts.
(6) Base construction
After years of construction, the discipline base of ship and ocean engineering has reached a considerable scale. With the marine engineering pool as the main body, state key laboratory of ocean engineering, together with other related supporting facilities, such as ship model towing pool, hollow cylinder, structural mechanics laboratory, maneuverability laboratory and underwater engineering pool, has formed an experimental research group with advanced equipment and complete functions, and built a base for major scientific research and high-level personnel training in the field of ship and marine engineering. In the comprehensive evaluation of 47 national key laboratories and 5 excellent key laboratories in the field of engineering and materials science organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2003, state key laboratory of ocean engineering was rated as an excellent national key laboratory for its strong discipline advantages, scientific research strength and achievements.
The two disciplines of marine engineering have built diesel engine-transmission-load system test-bed, engine electronic control test-bed, dual-machine parallel test-bed, 500KW SCR DC motor speed-regulating hydraulic coupling test-bed, 30KW small hydraulic coupling test-bed, air purification and aerosol separation test-bed, computer real-time simulation test-bed, underground aquifer energy storage test-bed, seawater fresh water ice-making test-bed and sustainable energy propulsion test-bed, equipped with advanced test equipment such as laser holography, programmable control and digital simulation.
