Vehicle engineering majors train senior professionals who master the basic theories of engineering technology such as machinery, electronics, computers, and professional knowledge and skills such as automobile design, manufacturing, and testing, understand and attach importance to the development of automobile technology, and have strong practical ability and innovative spirit in enterprises, scientific research institutes (institutes) and other departments.

1. The vehicle engineering specialty was formerly the automobile and tractor specialty and was founded in 1985. It is the earliest automobile undergraduate major in national agricultural and forestry colleges and the first automobile undergraduate major in Fujian Province.

2. In the process of running a school, due to the adjustment of the national professional catalogue, it was incorporated into the mechanical enrollment in 1998 and set as the direction of vehicle engineering, which belongs to the major of mechanical design, manufacturing and automation.

3. In 2007, it was officially renamed as Vehicle Engineering. In 2009, it was identified as "the construction point of characteristic specialty in colleges and universities" by Fujian Provincial Department of Education, and it is the core specialty of the application-oriented talent training group of "Mechanical Equipment Manufacturing and Automation" in Fujian Province.

4.20 19 12 was certified by the Ministry of Education for engineering education, and 202 1 was awarded the "provincial first-class undergraduate specialty" construction site. The mechanical engineering discipline it relies on was approved as a first-class master's degree on 201,was rated as a provincial key discipline on 20 12, and was recognized as a provincial plateau cultivation discipline on 20 17.

Cooperate with Dongfeng Motor, Baidu Company, Southeast Automobile, Du Yun Automobile, Fujian Ma Xinlong, Guancheng Ruimin, Hanteyun, Fuzhou Fangming and Fuzhou Liuhe to establish an off-campus practice teaching base. Since the first graduate of 1989, 34 undergraduate graduates have been continuously trained for the society, and the average employment rate in the past three years has exceeded 98%.
