So, if you write a thesis, what research direction should you choose?
If there is no desired research direction, it can be considered from five aspects:
1. Easy to use. Which direction is easy to start? China people do more (I don't mean to belittle). Because there are many researchers in our country, we like the seemingly relaxed and low-cost research direction, which is also recognized by international peers.
2. updated. A mature research direction is difficult to innovate. The newer direction is often the international research hotspot, and there are many conference journals.
3. Short-term fruitful. Just find a small research point to break through.
4. Widely used. In this way, your research may be valuable to future tutors. Basic research is difficult, and applied research is relatively easy. For example, you can study neural network because it can be applied to many practical problems. Even if you apply for a non-computer major in the future, this research is quite attractive to your tutor.
5. Be able to combine with your major. As soon as I majored in chemistry, I used artificial intelligence in chemical reaction modeling.
After choosing the direction, you need to read a certain amount of literature in this field. Research needs to be accumulated, and it is not realistic to do it overnight.
It is best to find more people to cooperate in the research, and it is advisable to find 2 ~ 4 people. The team I join consists of three students, and we have regular plans and discussions. Through cooperation, we only need to read a part of the literature, and it is easy to generate sparks in communication. The team has a clear division of labor: one person specializes in experiments; One person specializes in writing the first draft of the paper; One person specializes in changing the composition of papers. This greatly improves the research efficiency. There are many students going abroad, so they can't fight alone. They should cooperate fully to enhance their competitiveness.
There are two ways to publish papers internationally: conferences and periodicals. The review period of the meeting is short, and the review is relatively loose, mainly depending on whether the creativity is valuable. However, the conference fee is relatively high, ranging from 3,000 to 4,000 yuan (computer class). And some meetings are very strict, requiring the author to attend the meeting. Periodicals have a long review period and strict review, which requires the value of ideas, the integrity and rigor of research work. Many periodicals are free. It is a good choice for friends who have not applied for it for a long time to attend international conferences. If you don't go to the meeting, I suggest sending fewer articles. Not attending the meeting many times may have a bad influence on you.
I refer to international conferences and periodicals. Domestic journals will attach importance to the academic qualifications, professional titles and research funds of researchers, so it is not less difficult for undergraduates to publish higher-level domestic journals without the support of tutors than international conferences.
When you apply, some papers may have been accepted and some are still under review. When you present your research results, you can divide your papers into two categories: published or accepted and under review. If you subscribe to a very high-level journal (such as IEEE Transaction), even if you don't accept it, it is very influential to write it in the under review.
