Religion focuses on the progress of religious research, covering theology, comparative religion and politics, religious philosophy, religious psychology, religious sociology and other research fields.

This magazine was founded by a Swiss company, and the Swiss MDPI Publishing Institute was established in 1996. It is a leading global open access periodical publishing company, headquartered in Switzerland, with branches in China, Spain, Serbia, Britain, Thailand, Romania, Japan, Poland and Canada, and five offices in China. Up to now, 33 English sci-tech periodicals have been established, including nearly 86 SCIE periodicals such as Molecule, Sensor, IJMS, MarineDrugs, Energy and IJERPH.
