Li Yong's thesis
When you see a virtuous person, you should look up to him. When you see a person without virtue, you should do introspection. That should be what it means. Confucius said, "See the sage Si Qi, but go inward without seeing the sage." The origin of the Analects of Confucius is that people who see virtue should look up to him, and those who see no virtue should reflect on their own shortcomings. This shows that this is what Confucius said. "Introspection after seeing the bad guys" means that the bad example "taught us a lesson". We should learn from it and continue to fall with others. Mencius' mother moved three times for fear that Mencius would be influenced by bad neighbors. In his poems, Du Fu boasted that "Li Yong is eager to learn and is willing to be a neighbor", which all illustrated the role of this "model".
