From this point of view, the installation of lightning arrester plays a very important role in protecting circuit breakers and preventing lightning overvoltage. Although lightning rod can protect most of the lightning strikes on the line, lightning wave intrusion and induced lightning overvoltage will generate overvoltage at the break of substation circuit breaker, thus posing a threat to the circuit breaker.

Second, the use of line arrester

Because the line is long and exposed to mountains or fields for a long time, lightning has become the main reason for lightning trip of the line. Therefore, we should actively adopt the way of absorbing the line on the spot after being struck by lightning, and according to the analysis of the relevant data of the lightning location system, install lightning protection measures for the 220KV and above lines in heavily mined areas, including installing lightning arresters and lightning rods to prevent lightning waves from invading the substations along the line.
