What is UHP?
This light source has the following characteristics: (1) the average brightness is as high as 1Gcd/m2, and the arc distance is1.0/1.3/1.45 mm, which can be applied to smaller chip panels. (2) The service life of the light source used in the rear projection field can reach 6000- 15000 hours, and that used in the front projection field can reach 1000-6000 hours. (3) Pulsating driving power supply keeps the arc emitting stably and eliminates screen flicker. (4) Very stable chromatographic performance and excellent luminous flux maintenance rate. UHP lamps need good hot start performance, which can only be achieved by providing a very high peak start voltage (about 20kV) by the driving power supply. Now, a lamp that can realize rapid hot start at 5kV has been developed. The lamp integrates a tiny cavity on the discharge tube, and with the help of the auxiliary antenna, it can generate a small amount of ultraviolet rays when the lamp is started, thus greatly reducing the breakdown voltage required by the discharge tube. In order to adapt to the trend of miniaturization of projector market, Philips developed E 17 small reflective cup lamp Bami, whose end face size is only 33mm? 33mm, the reflecting surface is ellipsoid, and one side of the discharge tube sphere is coated with a reflective film, and the light is reflected back to the reflective cup, which greatly improves the luminous flux. Combining this technology with single chip DLP technology, a very compact portable projector can be developed.
