Countless people all over the world are experiencing all kinds of freedoms, such as basic freedom of survival, lack of access to basic social opportunities (medical care, education, employment, social security, economic capacity), and inequality between men and women. In addition, people in many countries are systematically deprived of political freedom and basic civil rights. Some people argue that this deprivation will help stimulate economic growth, rationalize the oppression of political freedom when there is no economic disaster, and even deprive basic civil and political rights in the name of economic growth.
However, a large number of empirical studies show that economic growth is more compatible with a friendly economic environment than authoritarian political system, and the lack of economic security is related to the lack of democratic rights and legal freedom. For example, in the history of the world, there has never been a famine in a functioning democracy. In fact, political freedom and civil freedom are of direct importance, and do not need to be indirectly proved by reflecting their economic functions.
