Since the publication of 1987, Modern Geology has won many honors and awards: (1) 1990 won the first prize of excellent editorial quality of Peking University Journal; (2) Won the Editorial Quality Award and Publishing Condition Award among the four awards of 1992 Beijing Excellent Sci-tech Journals; (3) 1995 won the first prize of "Three Excellent" selected by Journal of Systematic Natural Science of Beijing University; (4) At the end of 2000, won the first "China Academic Journals (CD-ROM Edition) Retrieval and Evaluation Data Specification" implementation Excellence Award.
According to the Citation Report of China Sci-tech Journals published by China Institute of Sci-tech Information in June, 2004, the total cited frequency and impact factor of Modern Geology in 2003 were 497 and 0.523, respectively, ranking 10 and 18 in the national geological journals. The total citation frequency of Modern Geology ranks 267th in the national 1576 excellent statistical source journals of scientific papers. The academic quality of this journal is obviously improved, and it is an excellent geoscience journal.
Modern geology mainly reports the latest research results and progress of various branches and marginal disciplines of earth science, covering strata, paleontology, rocks, minerals, deposit geology, tectonic geology, geochemistry, prospecting and exploration, energy geology, mathematical geology, remote sensing geology, environmental geology, engineering geology, geophysics, prospecting engineering and many other geoscience fields.
This journal adheres to the policy of serving geological scientific research, teaching and production, pays attention to publishing the latest scientific and technological achievements and cutting-edge academic papers, and reports major scientific and technological achievements closely related to national economic construction in time.
