Radio frequency technology refers to the technology that uses electromagnetic waves of 30~3000MHz (the definition of frequency range may be different) to realize information and energy transmission. From the application field, RF technology is mainly used for information transmission, such as mobile communication (mobile phone), wireless Internet (WiFi), radar and so on. As an energy application, the most common is heating (such as household microwave oven). In addition, RF power supply is also used in high-energy physical accelerators and medical equipment (such as nuclear magnetic resonance).
Radio frequency tag (RFID) technology belongs to a specific application of radio frequency technology, which uses radio frequency electromagnetic waves to realize a certain distance and non-contact information identification technology. In addition to the traditional transmission, reception, modulation, demodulation and other technical means covered by radio frequency technology, the challenge of RFID technology lies in realizing information storage and corresponding wireless communication functions under the conditions of low cost, small size and low power consumption.
The application of RFID technology also needs the support of corresponding software middleware and business model. The application in the field of Internet of Things is the most promising.
