Nanjing Agricultural University, located in Nanjing, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education with advantages and characteristics of agricultural science and life science. It is also the national "world-class discipline construction university" and "2 1 1 engineering" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform". Selected in the national "20 1 1 plan", "11plan", "863 plan", "973 plan" and "excellent agricultural and forestry personnel education and training plan".

The school has also been selected into "Double First-class" Agricultural Science Alliance, High-level Industry-featured University Quality Resource Sharing Alliance and CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.

The school's predecessor can be traced back to Sanjiang Normal School in 1902 and Jinling University in 19 14. During the period of 1952, the departments of colleges and universities in China were adjusted, and Nanjing Agricultural College was formed by the merger of Jinling University, the former Agricultural College of National Central University and some departments of Zhejiang University. 1963 was identified as a national key university. 1984 was renamed Nanjing Agricultural University.
